Popular Post aguy30
An overdose from 1 Kamagra? A reaction maybe but not an overdose from the normal dosage of one tablet. "Kamagra, a Thai version of Viagra" Actually Kamagra is manufactured in India and is not the Thai version of Viagra. Great reporting and police work, again.

Popular Post aguy30
He was by himself, strange, very strange! Not so strange if his companion realized he was dead or at least having a big problem and ran away. Sounds like normal Thai behavior/

Popular Post transam
Only an autopsy might find out that he over dosed on stiffy. Why do folk think cos one remained it took three. My paracetamol pack only has one remaining, dose that mean I took 9 before.

My paracetamol pack only has one remaining, dose that mean I took 9 before. Excellent point! People with heart problems are advised not to take this sort of medication, but as you say, the cause will be determined by the autopsy. Condolences to his family and friends.

Kerryd
Reminds me of the Canadian that died in Isaan a few years back. IIRC he met this "nice" lady on the interwebs, flew to Thailand 6 months later, went to dinner with the lady and her chaperone (nice girl doesn't go to dinner alone on a first date with a stranger !), then he and the lady go back to his hotel room (shock !!). According to the story, he croaked in mid-stroke. Apparently he had taken 2 Viagra just before (wanting to make sure he didn't disappoint no doubt). Long trip (Canada to Thailand to Isaan), probably out-of-shape 50+ y.o. that had probably also been drinking. Probably better to go out with a smile on your face and a sweet young thang in your bed, rather than some other methods people traditionally use. Not sure the "sweet young thang" would agree though. I laugh when my Thai friends ask me to buy Viagra for them. Seems that if a foreigner asks for it at a pharmacy it's no big deal, but if a Thai guy does it is a major calamity ! I thought Thailand had also brought in a law/regulation that Viagra could only be sold with a prescription ? I think the idea was that a doctor would check the person out first and warn them of the risks. Then I remembered, T.I.T., any law/regulation that was brought in probably stopped getting enforced the next day anyways, especially if it was costing someone $$. My "soon-to-be-ex" of the day found an old packet of Viagra on a shelf that I apparently had forgotten about a long time ago (judging by the dust on it). She was somewhat upset and informed me quite strictly that I did not need to use that with her !

transam
70 years old is just an old guy dying from being old. In my book 70 isn't old. He might have had underlying problems that he knew nothing about. I lost two friends in their twenties with underlying problems.

Who knows if he didn't use 2 of them on earlier days? Or may be all of them? Or may be non of them? Who knows if the pack found even belonged to him? virtualtraveller
The generic viagra's aren't strong, in my experience the kamagras in pill form are strong (and possibly not as safe). Three would be too many, any more than one and it makes no difference. btw men of this age dying of heart attacks during sex occurs fairly regularly here in Thailand. And that looked like a pretty cheap short time.
Frank James
That sildenifil is a very potent drug. Anything more than one at a time, maximum one in a day, is a very risky proposition. It is definitely contraindicated if the user has any sort of heart or hypertension situation. There are a lot of maintenance drugs that older men take regularly that can clash with sildenifil. Be very careful. RIP to the German brother.

Popular Post bra
The normal Viagra dose is 25 mg to 100 mg - not sure what was contained in the tablets taken by the deceased. In itself Viagra should not be a problem to those in reasonably good health. But that's why you should only take it after seeing your doctor and should only be purchased on prescription. There are certainly dangers - please read this from a US based medical site: Serious cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, and vascular events, including myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death, ventricular arrhythmia, cerebrovascular hemorrhage, transient ischemic attack, hypertension, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhages, and pulmonary hemorrhage have been reported with the use of VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) . Most, but not all, of these patients had preexisting cardiovascular risk factors. Many of these events were reported to occur during or shortly after sexual activity, and a few were reported to occur shortly after the use of VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) without sexual activity. It is not possible to determine whether these events are related directly to VIAGRA (sildenafil citrate) , to sexual activity, to the patient's underlying cardiovascular disease, to a combination of these factors Viagra also increases the blood pressure lowering effects of nitrates (for example, isosorbide dinitrate) that are used primarily for treating angina. Patients taking nitrates should not receive Viagra. RIP for the poor guy.

penwithcris
The latest twist in this story is the suspicion that the missing three tablets were stolen by intruders The police are urgently looking for three 'hardened' criminals But seriously, if, indeed the German gentlemen did consume 3 viagra tablets in expectation of a willing visitor then i can well believe that the dosage proved too great for his heart I have occasionally used viagra as a means of going into sexual overdrive, but even half a tablet raises my blood pressure and heart rate and temporarily blocks my airways. I dread to think what the effect of taking 3 tablets would be. I am sure my life would be at risk Of course most of the comments here, including mine, are pure speculation, but events such as unexplained deaths inevitably brings out the amateu sleuths amongst us
