The unkindest cut of all, maybe - maybe not.

In a slightly ironic way we were asked if we wanted to pay extra to have a slightly lessor son.

The main pro circumcision reasons seemed to be hygienic ones, but provided when bathing your son you are comfortable with cleaning under his foreskin and teaching him to do the same, leave him with it and let him make his own choice when he is old enough.

I disagree with Goldbuggy's writing.

People are saying to do it so they won't feel different to the other boys if everyone is circumcised. This is only for a small time in their lives, and not even for certain. Where is 100% circumcised anyway in the Western World? Besides Isreal.

After this time you ruin the sex life for them and their wife.

And I don't know, what about masterbation when they are teens too. I think they start it centuries ago to stop the boys from masterbating, so this is also reason not to do it. Let them be natural. smile.png

Thanks for the comments above ... but frankly ... none of is what I am looking for.

So you are only looking for answers that confirm what you want to do anyway.

Geeze ... how straightforward do you have to with some people ... facepalm.gif

I've said this twice thus far ...

Now, before this goes any further ... I'm only interested in hearing replies from couples who have 1/2 Thai/Western Kids.

When I wrote that quoted line (which has been taken out of context) ... none of the replies then had been from ... couples who have identified themselves as having 1/2 Thai/Western Kids.

Again ... both my partner and I have an open mind on the issue.

I also expected better of those who 'liked' your comment.

Maybe I am too much of an optimist ... but I thought that on this Forum, we did our best to help the members ... not judge them ... dry.png

Here is an answer from the male half of a Thai/Western marriage with a son. We didn't do it. Now admittedly I didn't really look into it. I myself am circumsized. Now igorning the locker room asthetics, we plan on staying here and my understanding was Thais don't do it. As for other cultures to be honest I am not sure who does or why. Another reason we didn't do it is as I started to think "yes or no" I couldn't have imagined finding someone who could do it without great injury to our son and I would not want him to suffer even at such a young age where is is more likely to "forget" it. I think as far as any problems that might arise from the "extra" skin, wouldn't that be just a question of teaching him to properly clean in the folds of skin? Now our son is five and unless he asks for it(doubtful) it isn't going to be done. Other than adding some "personality" to his friend, I don't see much benefit of doing it. Why cause any pain to your child if you have a choice not to? Hope this helps.

Dave,

I have not been blessed with any children, but I would like to make a contribution to this thread because of a relevant personal circumstance.

I had to have this operation done when I was nearly 16 years old. Apart from the embarrassment of my fist ever shave being performed by a young female nurse while I was on my back, eyes closed, trying desperately not to think of anything at all, it hurt like hell for more than a couple of days afterwards.

But, I survived.

Unless there is a good medical reason to do it now ......... don't do it.

If a medical condition arises later on in their lives, it's a simple fix, and it isn't the end of the world.

You can ask my wife if you like...or just come round and listen at the bedroom door.

As for feeding the chickens....I never had a problem with it...in fact came quite naturally...by accident in the shower circa 13yo.....get a grip guys

My todger is no doubt much prettier than most on here.

It helps a lot and adds positively to the discussion.

So a Face Lift or Breast Enlargement is Natural? No! Of course not! But many people do this, more if they had the money to, so that they feel better about themselves. Which is my whole point in them not feeling different and thus felling better about themselves.

What do you mean for only a small time in their life anyways? Ever been to camp with other boys and showered together? Or in High School after a Basket Ball Game with the team? Or the Army? I also don't see what any of this has got to do with ruining their sex life. I never heard that one before either. Where did you ever get this information from anyway? Care to try and prove that with a link here?

Also, and obviously unlike you, I never did a recent survey as to where it is that all boys are 100% Circumcised. I know it was extremely popular in the West when I was growing up. But honestly not sure where it stands today. But just for your information, and in defenses of the Jews, most Arabic People also get Circumcised. In fact, Islam is the largest single religious group that practises this. I think they call it "Khitan" if you want to look that up.

Regarding the Health issue it actually all came about after WW1. They had discovered from the men in the trenches, who could bath for long periods of time, that there were much fewer case of infection and penis cancer from men who were circumcised compared to men who were not. Personally, I still think it is more hygienic to be Circumcised.

I also have a Nephew who went through bloody hell when he reached Puberty. His skin was so tight it chocked his...you know what. Couldn't even pee. Had to get an operation later, which someone already pointed out is very painful at that age. But having said that, I never heard of any operation to sew it back on. Did you?

What I have to say about it is that when you are in Rome, do what the Romans do!

If it is customary in the country where you will live, to have this done to the majority of the boys, then do it also. If not, then don't. What you really want to do is safe guard against having them different then other boys there, who are at their own ages. I think being Half Thai in a Western World will be challenging enough for both of them. At least as brothers they will stick together. So you for sure don't want to add to their troubles by making them even more different. So what ever you decide I hope it is just for there well being.

Oh Ya! Please don't do one and not the other. This for sure will cause tremendous headaches for you and unlimited questions when they get older. (Only Kidding).

I was born in England, raised in Canada. I never had a problem because I had a foreskin and they didn't. In fact I was proud of mine!

Anyway, it's character building being different!

Like I said in an earlier post, "you should never forcibly retract a child's foreskin"

Please don't give advice like that, it can cause serious damage.

We will never again, in most likelyhood, have men in trenches - as for the hygene issue, this has been proven worng many times over.

If hygene, or perceived, hygene is of concern then simply give it a clean. Baby wipes work wonders :)

Umm do you really know what you are talking about?

i never had an issue satisfying or being satisfied. They are being circumcised not turned into a eunuch, they do still have a penis which functions. If you have an opinion fine post it, but if you have no clue then don't post, you look silly.

I hope this topic should be discuss to the Ladies Forum...

I agree with this thinking ...one might want to consider what future female? partners might prefer? I have a half Thai child, but she is a girl ...you didn't say that only parents of male children could answer ....so ...

as an adult female, while I don't really like to get this personal ...I think natural is better, i.e. not cut!

I also think that based on the research I have read on the subject.

You can always do it LATER, if a person wants, but you can't get it back later ...so that is another thing to consider.

So, I vote, DON'T cut!!

No way.

The same sensors that are in your finger tips are in your foreskin. Perhaps have the skin cut off from his finger tips too.

Of course people with it done would try to argue that you could still pick stuff up, so no difference though.

I someone highlighted I need to retract my earlier comment.

It was an uneducated backseat driver/baby bather comment.

I appreciate the correction and advise anyone choosing not to snip,to do a bit of research on cleaning your sons foreskin as it can actually harm them.

My apologies.

A study worth considering.

Spare the cutting criticism.

100 to 1. I'd take those odds!

http://www.jpost.com/Jewish-World/Jewish-Features/Study-Circumcision-comparable-to-vaccination-347587

Team of researchers are recommending circumcising males to avoid diseases, saying 1/2 uncircumcised males contract medical conditions.

An Australian-American team of researchers recommended circumcising infant males to avoid diseases in a new study that compared the practice to vaccination.

The team, led by Brian Morris of the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Sydney, asserted in their newly published study that half of uncircumcised males will contract an adverse medical condition caused by their foreskin.

...

“A risk-benefit analysis of conditions that neonatal circumcision protects against revealed that benefits exceed risks by at least 100 to one,” the authors wrote in the study, titled: “Circumcision Rates in the United States: Rising or Falling? What Effect Might the New Affirmative Pediatric Policy Statement Have?”

Their main focus seems to be urinary tract infection. Something most women will get several times in their lifetime and which can be treated with a simple antibiotic. A REALLY good reason to cut skin off a babies dick. Not.
