I'm considering getting a non-O and retirement extension with multi-entry. I would basically spend some time in LOS and some in the US.

I would lease a house or condo, get a driver's license, etc. etc. My questions are:

1. If I buy a car in one province and register it, and then if I move to a different province, do I have to re-register the car including new plates?

2. Would the year's insurance I buy in one province follow the car for the whole year if I moved to a different province?

Thanks for the help. smile.png

I live in Nakhon Sawan Province, but my car is registered in Bangkok and has been for years. I reregister it every year at the DMV in NS but keep the Bangkok registration as it costs 2000 baht - I think- to transfer it. I still have the house in Bangkok here it was originally registered years ago. The insurance is valid no matter which province you live in, but when I moved to NS I changed the address on the insurance to the NS address. Not a problem.

Yup, agree with wayned, should be no issue. Let's try this in motoring, not really visa related.

No problem for the insurance but any fines get sent to the old address and now there is a point system they have talked about unpaid fines cancelling the registration and then you have not registration and insurance when it happens. THe points system only started this year so we have to wait and see if it happens.

No expert on visa stuff but I don't think you can multi enter on a retirement extension. Think you have to visit immigration and pay for a re-entry stamp.

Perhaps someone can clarify for ''us''....smile.png

If you have a O-A VIsa it is generally issued as multi visa.

Retirement O extensions are issued individually valid to 12 months however they do not permit re-entry unless a re-entry permit is ovbtained first.

Generally it is easiest to get at least a single re-entry permit at the same time you do the extension as otherwise you have to start again with 3 months seasoning of bank depositsl.

The method of visa inted to be used was mentioned in the OP Crossy. If he was unable to get that visa the question regarding registation would not useful to him.

Much like someone asking what colour light switches to put in if he is living 100 feet underground and unable to connect to the grid and not willing to put in solar power. /////Well I guess there is geothermalsmile.png
