we applied at the main post office in Phuket (Oz tourist visa) and got a piece of paper with 2 EMS numbers (one for EMS package to Bangkok, the other for return of the bank books) and another number that just says (For Official Use). and there is what looks like a cash register receipt with a bunch on numbers on it.

we are trying to find status of the application if possible.

but don't know what a VLN number is and if i have it somewhere on this paper. does anyone know?

i notice here http://www.vfs-au.net/trackyourapplication.html is says 'You can track your application by entering your Receipt Number given to you during the Visa application Submission and your Date of Birth.'

i tried the receipt number and every other number but i always get 'Invalid characters in VLN number'

Mate, I don't know of anyone applying through the post office .. though I know it's done.
