Russians in Phuket

Featured Replies

How inundated is Phuket with Russians? Pattaya is probably 80% Russian now, maybe mixed with other Russian speaking ex soviet union countries. Is Phuket ruined yet too, or just getting that way?

Europe is into spring soon and a majority will go home as it warms up.

Russians dont bother me, they tend to stick to themselves and are rather amusing in their drunken antics.

Chinese are the tourists that are everywhere. They hate the sun, don't spend money and very unhygienic in general.

The attractive russian girls don't bother me either, specially in bikini around the pool... w00t.gif

My Luk Krueng daughter, her husband and friends just returned from an enjoyable holiday in Phuket. They've been on holidays there many times.

This time she found she had to brush up on her Thai. Since last years trip she noticed the biggest change was the number of vendors who speak Russian but not english.

That indicates to me the Russians are making in-roads and a market the locals think worth catering to.
