Best Thai plastic surgeons for eyes and nose surgery

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm planning to get my eyes and nose surgery done in the end of this year. I've been researching on different surgeons both in the US and Thailand, but there aren't many reviews on Thai plastic surgeons on the internet. Does anybody know, heard of, or have experience with a good plastic surgeon specializing in Asian eyelids and nose surgery that they can recommend? I mean... WHO are the BEST plastic surgeons in Thailand???

Any replies would greatly appreciate!

I had my upper eyelids done just over 2 weeks ago. I'm happy with my surgeon but time is the big factor after plastic surgery. I'm expecting 6 months before things will be right. With eyes they never recover at the same rate so one will always look different to the other until many months post op. I had mine eyes done at the Memorial Hospital in Korat. Cost 8,000 Baht incl meds.

I never asked. I got no recommendations to use him. I just went to the said hospital. Had a consultation with the op done a few days later. I'm not into all this "who's the best" rubbish. How can someone offer an opinion if they know nothing about the skills of the surgeon? They go by results. As I've said "I'm happy". That's what it was all about. F*** paying 30,000 Baht for the same op I can get for 8,000 Baht just because the surgeon works in a big fancy hospital in Bangkok. Even they make mistakes. You pays yer money, you take yer chance. thumbsup.gif The choice is yours.

Think ill take my chances with a surgeon that has good reviews from his patients.

So far, I've heard that Dr Teerasit and Dr Chartchai at Bumrungrad got good reviews on the internet, but most of them were patients that got Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation from him. Sounds like these procedures are what they're better at.

Any recommendations for eyelids surgery doctors in Thailand?

Please see these threads

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/186498-eyelid-surgery-in-bangkok/ - first hand recommendations for Dr. Greechart at Yanhee and Dr. Amorn at Bumrungrad

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/312262-blepharoplasty-in-thailand/ more firsthand recs for Dr. Greechart

Note that some of these pertain to removal of bags under the eyes for Westerners rather than making Asian eyes rounder. I think post # 2 i nthe second thread was an Asian. Dr. Amorn tends to treat mainbly Westerners whereas Dr. Greechart has done both Western and Asian eyes, a lot of the latter.

From what I have heard on this board over the years, personally I would suggest Dr. Greechart for an Asian wanting to add lids/make eyes rounder

Not sure if my post went through. But just want to share my experience with those looking for double eyelid surgery.

Dr Chartchai at Samitvej Sukhumvit did the procedure and I will NOT recommend him for this type of surgery.

I am unhappy with the result. The crease in one eyelid is bigger than the either and as a result one eye looks bigger than the other and it's quite obvious.

And I also have dry eye in that eye. It does not shut properly and that eye gets v tired after reading just few minutes. Went to see an eye doctor and he gave me some eyedrops etc which is only helping a little bit.

Dr Chartchai was recommended to me by a dermatologist. I wish I had found this forum discussion before going blindly with this doctor. My line of thinking was he can't be bad if he works in a big expensive hospital (how wrong was I!). He charged Bht 40k.

I would appreciate if you can share your negative experience on eyelid surgery and whether subsequently you had a sucessful fix with another surgeon.

Please do your research before undertaking this seemingly simple procedure!

who did your eye ops?

had the procedure 4 wks ago

You're jumping the gun 'Happychick'. It can take many months for scar tissue to heal. In my case 2 months. I had my ops done in Korat, 8,000 Baht all incl. I knew naff all about the surgeon and took my chance. This guy will not do the op unless he feels it necessary. I took with me 2 local women from the village for consultations. One for a nose job and the other for her eyes. He turned both down based on that they didn't require surgery. That showed me something.

It doesn't take much time on the internet to find loads of horror stories from doctors in the west. So I personally don't think having it done in Thailand should worry you. One problem is that everyone's body heels differently. It is very difficult for a doctor to know what it's going to look like when all the swelling goes down. That can take 6 months to a year. I am impressed at all the success stories there are out there.

I agree with a previous poster that paying big money doesn't mean you will get a better physician. Most of the price goes to paying overhead costs. Find a physician that has done a lot of them. Years of experience means a lot. Schooling.. maybe. Do you remember anything you learned in school? I don't, but I learned everything on the job.

There was a recommendation for Dr. Greechart above. I was at Yanhee Hospital the other day, and it was a 2 hr wait to see him. Chairs were lined up all day full of people, and they were all waiting to see him. That's usually a good sign.

Well you personally think what you like, but I had plastic surgery here and it was not a good experience at all.

Not only it's not what I wanted but I had pains for years because of this butcher.

And the difference with the West is that you have ZERO legal way to get compensated.

The people who are unhappy have too much to deal with already and don't come and complain here

I would like to share my bad experience with those looking for blepharoplasty surgery.

(Name of doctor and hospital removed by Moderator in keeping with forum rules. Please PM OP if this info is desired.)

I am unhappy with the result. The scarring is so bad. One eyelid is obvious bigger than the either.

I had a consultation with Dr Greechart at Yanhee hospital based on great reviews on the internet. Whilst I'm not doubting he is very skilled I found his bedside manner terrible. He was not interested to answer any of my questions at all. In fact he made me feel intimidated to ask questions as if I was questioning his ability. I simply wanted to know the risks involved, what to expect during recovery etc. The consultation was really rushed. It felt like a cattle station at Yanhee hospital.

It's so difficult to find real stories and experiences about Thai surgeons. I just came across a website that is in BETA that has been very helpful. www.topdocs.asia. You can see before & after photos of the doctors and read reviews. I had a consultation with Dr Komwit and Dr Seree through the site and was very happy with the response and communication. Both surgeons answered all my questions thoroughly. I've now booked in with Dr Komwit on the 21st of October.

I had the upper blepharoplasty done at Yanhee by dr. Greechart a year ago. I am happy with the results. I agree with the previous poster about his bed side manners, they are lacking and the consultation was over in matter of minutes. Had I not have read a lot about the risks and healing process before going to see him and seen the referrals here in TV I would not have gone through the surgery at Yanhee. Now I am happy that I did although during the process it felt like being in a factory. But then again, I am not into a fuss and pricey overnight pampering package like they suggested me in Bumrungrad.

Thanks for sharing PlKiss. I now feel better that someone else had a similar experience with Dr Greechart at Yanhee. From what I've read his results are amazing and it's only his lack of bedside manner that's a lot to be desired. For me personally to have plastic surgery is a big decision and I want to feel fully informed and comfortable with my surgeon before going ahead. Yanhee seems to be focused on medical tourism patients who fly in an out and are only concerned about having a low cost procedure. If you aren't prepared to do research on your own like PIkiss did then I wouldn't recommend Dr Greechart.

I'm having to pay more at Bumrungrad hospital as an outpatient procedure but I'm happy to pay that little bit extra to have Dr Komwit as my surgeon as he has already probably spent 1-2 hours with me through email communication plus the 45 minute face to face consultation. Because I have to travel a lot with my work I can have online video consultations post-op through the topdocs platform which reassures me I'm in good hands. I also like the fact that I'm communicating directly with the doctor and not through the hospital or an agent. I look forward to sharing my post-op results and experience. Who knows it could be a different story.

From reading this topic, I decided to visit Korat Memorial hospital which is a 4 hrs bus trip from Bangkok (flying in from the US). I took the bus to Korat bus terminal 1 which is  an easy walk to the hospital. I booked my stay at the Siri hotel which is located across the street from the hospital as are other hotels nearby. I went to the hospital and inquire about doing a lower Blepharoplasty and was told that Dr. Pinai, the plastic surgeon, hours are on Tuesday and Thursday 5pm to 7pm for patients and hours for surgery follows.

I met with Dr Pinai who speaks excellent English and explained to him what I wanted and asked if he could perform the surgery the same day. He replied yes. He also said that there was excess skin as well and that it will also be removed.

The cost in Jan 2017 was 10,000 baht plus 300 baht for medication (antibiotics, anti-inflammation pills and ointment and pain killers).

I was in the operating room with Dr. Pinai and two nurses for 1 hour for the procedure. Prior to that, I was prepped by the nurse for the operation, including the changing my clothes to a gown, washing my eyes, etc. All was done in a hospital where there more personnel on watch than in a clinic.ith

The procedure called to have my stitches removed 5 days after surgery and for a follow-up visit with the Dr Pinai in 7 days. Since I had already booked my hotel stay in Bangkok the day after my surgery, I had my stitches removed in Bangkok at the Thai Eye center by an excellent eye doctor, saving me valuable time from a long bus ride to Korat.

It has been two weeks since my blepharoplasty procedure and I am delighted with the results.

I would highly recommend Dr. Pinai and Korat Memorial Hospital for those seeking cosmetic surgery at affordable prices, especially those who are on a tight budget.

In any event, I think a bus trip to Korat and Korat Memorial Hospital to see Dr. Pinai for a consultation will be well worth the price of the bus trip at approximately $12 roundtrip from Bangkok.
