Hi,

I just bought a car that would be good for drifting and gymkhana.

Where can I practice first to save embarrassing myself at one of those events?

Do they have practice days where I could have a hack around?

Cheers

Usually the first day/time you try any form of motorsport there is a risk of coming last. It is called a learning curve. Also in most forms of motorsport newcomers have to have a yellow black "novice X" on the back of their vehicle. As everyone has to do or has done it there is not shame attached. Maybe gymkhana doesn't as cars are on track individually.

Most autocross layouts are different on the day so all people have to learn them on that day. Sure you can go to Seacon Square track and drive around and learn about your car but apart from learning car control it won't help you much on the day.

If you are worried about embarrassment then maybe motorsport is not for you?
