Mahasarakham water pump shop

I need to fit a water tank (above ground) and pump.

A lot of posts on here recommend using a specialist shop rather than somewhere like Global or Homepro. My wife says there's a shop that sells pumps for wells but she's not sure if they do what we want. This one is opposite Krungthai bank on Chaeng Sanit Road in Mahasarakham. Does anyone know this shop or any others in the area that they think are OK?

I put this in the DIY housing forum and whilst I got some advice about pumps there was nothing about local shops so I thought I'd try on here.

I think I know the shop you are talking. That is the shop that has all sorts of odd pieces and parts for almost anything. Not sure if they do outside work though.

Unless you are doing something very different than most set ups it is really easy and you can get the parts you need at Global. What sort of tank are you working with? One of the old round cement tanks or a plastic one?

P M me and I will see if I can be any help, I also live in Sarakham

I think the last poster is correct - this is a shop with a vast store of hardware of all different kinds, and which also services pumps and power tools. I don't have any experience of having a water pump serviced there - though I have purchased some hard-to-get pipe fittings - but they did a good job in fixing my power drill.

This is a picture from my house and you can see the water pump I am using. It is a Mitsubishi pump. I payed about 6000 baht at Global. I don't have a water tank. I have the pump because I want a higher water pressure. And sometimes there is no water pressure and with this pump I always have water.

If you need someone to install the pump for you I have a friend who have a shop close to the intersection on the main road were you turn right to Big C. If you want his telephone number please send me a PM.

Can anyone give me directions to the shop that sells pimps for boreholes in Sarakham? I require a pump to lift about 50 m but at very slow rate of 200 l per hour.

Thanks

Lots of shops have that sort of pump, even Global, the problem is the flow rate. I had the same sort of situation, all the submersible pumps I could find pumped more then the recharge rate for the borehole. I ended up using an on off relay attached to a timer based on the recharge rate of the well. I think I was lifting 40 some meters

Why don't you use a valve on top of a water tank that is connected to the PVC pipe? It works like the toilet tank fill valve. It's pure mechanical and it works like a dream.

Hard to say without knowing the exact details from Patongphil. But I don't think it is a matter of shutting off the intake when the tank is full. If he has a similar situation to mine, my pump would over pump the borehole before it could recharge the well and I would end up pumping air, which usually ends up with a burned out pump.

Also I assume we are talking about pumps here and not pimps, if not, then we would have to move this to a different forum

Yup pumps not pimps - wish problem was the other way round though.

You are right in that my bore only makes about 200 l per hour so requirement is for a low volume pump.

Norlund I am not sure what you are getting at here as I need as much water as I can get and am looking for a solution to access these 200 l per hour from about 40 odd meters down a 150mm hole.

Same problem I had. Most pumps that will lift that height pump at a much higher volume than 200 l/per hr. Therefore you need a way to slow down the pump rate and not just shut off the intake when the tank is full.

Norlund your way will work fine as long as you never exceed a discharge rate greater than 200 l/ per hr. Otherwise the hole runs dry and your pump continues to run until your float shuts it off and it is running dry which is not very good for

submersible pumps

I don't have the cords right now and can't seem to get my Google earth to work but let's see if I can get you there with

directions.

I come into town from the Roi Et direction, so as you come into town there is a traffic light at the klong, 3 way intersection you can turn left along the klong or go straight. Go straight for a bit, the shop is on the left hand side across from the

Krunthai bank. Not a real shop front looks more like a garage but fairly good size place. There is usually someone sitting outside working on a weed trimmer or some sort of motor. If you get to the next traffic light you have gone to far. When you walk in the place it looks like a junk shop but just tell them or show them what you want and they will go dig around and 9 times out of 10 they will have it or something that will work.

Dinger can you supply directions/ coordinates to the shop please and I will pop in and see what they can do.

Cheers

This is a link to Google street view of the place I was talking about and it seems to be the one dinger gives directions to.

the reason I wanted a shop was that looking at the DIY housing forum several posters have said if you are able to find a specialist shop they can set it all up and they have a better idea what's needed. I did the same for my aircon from a family run shop in Sarakham and I'm very pleased with the result. My bil can fit it if needed once he's finished rebuilding the kitchen and adding a bedroom.

The reason for the tank and pump is just to get decent water pressure particularly in the mornings. We don't normally loose water altogether although we did about 2 weeks ago when they had the road up in the village so it would be good for a case like that.

My main need is for water pressure, particularly in the mornings as we don't lose water totally very often but I'm surprised that just using a pump can help that. I will still go for a tank I think just for those few occasions when we are waterless.

The reason why I always have water with this pump is because the water company does not shut of the water. They only shut of the water pressure.

We get water outages quite often especially this time of year. I have 4 tanks and keep them topped off just for suchtimes when there is no water in the village. We have gone without water for over a week at times so it helps to be prepared

In your situation it makes sense. My problem is generally low pressure but it's worse in the morning. If one of the family that still use the big bucket for a shower decide to fill it up my shower can almost stop. Just a pump might work. I've never thought of it before but if I get a tank then I'll be covered for short outages as well. We usually have water from the well available as well (just not now) so there is another option.

Hi

I have just read all the posts on this matter and am hoping that some can help me as well

Can anyone make any recommendations for a contractor to put in a full system. Well - pump - 2 tanks & stands [one for garden & 1 to be filtered/treated if necessary for 2 storey house & Laundry] - irrigation/piping.

We have an existing but very old well that seems to have water at about 8-10metres but not certain if it can be used. Any ideas on getting the water tested?

I am about 90 kms from Buriram in Chompun Buri, 20 kms from Satuek in Surin Province

Thanks in anticipation.

Rabbi: I spoke on the telephone today about your post with the owner of the #1 volume water pump | water Tank | water treatment shop located in Buriram. Pichai runs the family owned "Ruangsangthai" Hardware and Pump Shop located five minutes from the Buriram Private Hospital on the Buriram - Phutthaisong Highway 2074. He said he could easily send a team of his water pump installers to your home in Chompun Buri as he is doing other water filtering and water pump installation projects in Satuk next week. At no charge, no obligation, he would have his staff meet you and your Thai speaking better half at your Surin province home, to take a water sample and ascertain what some solutions might be for clean water in your home and garden. Then Pichai would EMS the water sample to a private testing lab in Bangkok and in about 4 days the results are faxed to his store. When he has the results he would phone you and request you meet him in person at his large store on Highway 2074 so he can show you exact name brand water pumps, name brand water tanks, and the filter tanks and media to go inside the water tanks that would solve your water situation. He can give you written guarantees on the products and installation. The only part of the project that are not direct employees of Ruangsangthai would be the professional well drilling firm he sub contracts. He will guarantee their work. Ruangsangthai has thousands, not hundreds, of water pumps in stock. Grundfos, Mercury, Mitsubishi are some of the submersible pumps. Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Pentax, Luckystar, Ebara are some of the land pumps. If you do a google search you can find much more about this store and they have a web site and google maps directions. His installation and service fees are a fraction of what are quoted by chain home improvement centers.

I have hired Ruangsangthai to install and maintain water pumps in three different Buriram locations, both village and in a town and I have found the prices always lower than any competitor, the installation crews professional and the owner responsive to my questions. The owner, Pichai speaks and understands English better in person, than on his mobile phone 089-844-9680 His shop has a serious stock of PVC and sprinklers for garden and farming irrigation. He sells inexpensive water pumps and water tanks to farmers and higher quality longer lasting water pumps, etc.. to those in a position to think "long term" value. I have made use of the free "loaner pump" when a Mitsubishi pump could not be repaired at my home, and the Ruangsangthai staff installed a free loaner water pump for the time period it took to repair and return my Mitsubishi water pump.
