I want to visit Australia sometime in August. A friend of mine invited me to stay at his house. My wife and I live in Thailand right now. ( I am an American citizen) I am wondering about how hard/easy it would be for her to get a visitor visa to come with me and I have no idea how about what sort of chances she would have. Any Australians input who might have any insight to the visa situation I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I am English and my Thai GF was given an Oz visitor visa to travel with me.

She has travelled elsewhere before so they had some evidence that she was likely to return, even more likely to return as she is your wife and not just long term GF.

I wrote a letter of "sponsorship" to say that I would be responsible for her welfare and expenses, etc while she was in Oz.

I was contacted and asked for some extra info but everything was done in a helpful way.
