What are Bangkok Hospital visiting hours?

All the ones I have been to the family could stay in your room 24/7. In my experience, my room had a fridge, plates and silverware and things to wash and dry clothes. The relatives slept on the floor, a sofa and in my hospital bed. Google Bangkok hospital private room. They look very much like a hotel suite.

Thanks for your reply! Sounds even better than in Canada which is a bonus. I was considering australia and thailand, but when I called the hospitals in australia, they seem to think they are god and can restrict visiting hours even for terminally ill patients separating them from their family members at citical times. One up for the LOS.

As said normally they are open but some may restrict access times late at night for security reasons (I know some government hospitals do). But a member of family is expected to be with patient at all times so private rooms always have a sleeping couch and even ward patients in government hospitals will have some place that relatives can sleep, even if on floors of hallways. Theft is a problem at some places so another reason to have someone stay with patient. Private room is the most common accommodation if not in a ward so no second patient to alert nurse in case of medical emergency.

Do you know if all hospitals in thailand offer private rooms then and the average cost?

You know you can answer all of these questions on google.

Yeah I know, but I was hoping for some real prices from real people. I was particularly interested in the bangkok general hospital which I think is in many cities in thailand.

Google "Bangkok Hospital." All the prices are real and up to date. Or google "Bangkok Hospital (particular city)" And you will get real up to date prices for that city. Or you can call them, they speak English and 10 other languages.

Bangok Hospital is probably the most expensive in Thailand. To give you an idea, the bill for a relatively simle orthopedic operation with 1 night hospital stay came to near Bt 130,000. They would itemize all charges on the bill, and when taken individually these look ridiculously high.

As others said the rooms are absolutely first class, in my case I had even a seaview. There would have been no problem in having relatives or friends to stay over.

Prices in the Bangkok Hospital chain vary by which hospital as they have many. Also, there are a range of rooms even within the "private" category of the same hospital. Same is true in all the private hospitals, and even government hospitals will offer 1 or 2 private or semi-private options. Room rates are all over the map so impossible to give a single answer, but hospital websites usually list them.

Both private and semi-private rooms will always have somewhere for a relative/friend to sleep.

Beware of the higher end rooms ("VIP" and the like). Not remotely worth it IMO, and admitting staff will push hard to sell them to you. If you want private, go for the least expensive private room.

Remember that this is only room charge -- the medical care is entirely additional to this.

Not even close. Bumrungrad would sue for defamation, they strive for that place of honor.
