CNN apologizes for accidentally announcing Pele's death on Twitter

Los Angeles - The CNN news organization apologized Friday for accidentally announcing the death of 73-year-old Brazilian soccer legend Pele via Twitter.

"Pele representative tells CNN he is alive and very well," tweeted the CNN show New Day. The Twitter account of the show also said it deleted the earlier erroneous tweet about the soccer player.

"We regret the error and thank our followers for the feedback," the tweet reads, apologizing to its 54,000 followers for the mistake.

Its great to see true democracy at work... a TV "news" channel asks every American with a pulse for their opinion, and then presents it as "news".

Twitter must be the greatest leap forward in collective thinking ever......

This is a wonderful setup for this coming week. Last week, Jon Stewart skewered CNN (again) on The Daily Show and announced that Pele will be on his show this week. His writers are going to have the time of their lives writing this episode. The timing couldn't be more perfect.

Seems CNN has a History of getting things Wrong and it never seems to 'faze' them in the least.

Anyone see that (in my opinion) 'bought and paid' for interview by that pseudo journalist (what's her name .. ?), recently ... The two participants were stroking each other like a bad porn dialogue.

Welcome to CNN's 'Buy a Point', whether the content is relevant or even factual ... The problem (and at once, the saving grace) is that no one believes either of them anymore.

Popular Voting will take care of one tweeky puppet, and channel searches for actual, factual news will take care of the other ....
