Very true. Not only for tax purposes. All kinds of authorities may want proof of your times in or out of Thailand. Health insurance, other insurances (you may lose coverage if abroad too long), banks, ... My passport is the only proof I have. -

K Bank in Bangkok is very efficient and very polite staff who can definately help out a foreigner customer. But that branch in a certain large shopping center in Hua Hin is a real mess, where it's made more then obvious, that they really dislike foreigners and love to go the extra mile and splurt out the usual "solly-no-can-do"...or the "solly, no-have".... -

Hatred.
I am on medication. I was making good progress, but have slid back into my hatred so my doctor has increased my dosage. It's an awful feeling that I wish would just go away , but it won't 😞 regards, bob. -
