Gluten free products in Thailand

Featured Replies

I write to ask where can I buy gluten free products in either Bkk or K Kaen?

Im on week 3 of gluten free diet and finding im getting hunger pains. I used to have big 3 course breakfast.... cornflakes, porridge and toast and now I can eat this and suffering a bit.

I would like to buy gluten free breakfast cereal and pure oats. In western countries there are health food shops everywhere. In thailand no such thing but maybe Bangkok or KK? Please provide name and address of a shop or online url if you know where I can buy gluten free goods.

Final question... I found a UK based company that does postal orders. Is it legal for me to buy and post gluten free cereals from the UK? Are there any nanny state custom rules to abide by in this country?

thanks

In Bangkok, see http://www.maisonduvins1994.com/index.php

They have Orgran brand gluten-free cereals, crispibreads and baking mixes for breads and cakes, no porridge though. They also deliver by post.

For other shopping tips in BKK, see http://glutenfreethailand.wordpress.com/category/gluten-free-shopping/gf-shops/

I haven’t been able to find (in Pattaya) certified GF porridge oats, may have to try with quinoa, amaranth, buckwheat or such. Foodland in Pattaya carries cornflakes (Nature’s Path) so maybe in Bangkok, too.
