Suthep says government officials can return to work Tuesday

Pheu Thai's supporters are an interesting breed. They do not brag about their spoils. They do not commend Jatuporn's intent to intimidate Constitutional Court judges. They do not brag about Yingluck's attempts to discredit the NACC. They do not comment on the secessionist movement within the UDD. They do not talk about the rice scandal, or the attempts to stop its investigation. They do not talk about the Thaksin amnesty bill. They do not refer to Thaksin's skype conference calls with cabinet ministers. They do not talk about the occasional sojourns of administrative officials to consult Thaksin abroad. Pheu Thai's supporters actually manage to support Pheu Thai without talking about any of these things. If they were true supporters, one would suspect it wouldn't be difficult at all. But talking about any one of these things would actually be very difficult for them. In fact, intensely uncomfortable. And yet, all these things are what Pheu Thai and the UDD have been about and are about. As Pheu Thai supporters are yet to acknowledge any of these things - even once - one can only conclude that they are holding onto a fantasy - a fantasy that is somehow disconnected with any of things that Pheu Thai and the UDD actively support.

Suthep and the PDRC are actually relaxing their stance, for those that will stop and take notice. They are, however, intent that the NACC and the Constitutional Court proceed as they constitutionally should. Pheu Thai and the UDD have the exact opposite objective, so it really is rather easy to distinguish between the two. Pheu Thai supporters will likely be faced this week with an inconvenient truth. The actions of the UDD will be that inconvenient truth. It will upset their narrative. They will need to dance cartwheels around it. The UDD's actions will ultimately embarrass them, as they should.

Most people you refer to as "PTP supporters" are not actually PTP supporters per se. Rather, we oppose the coup-and-subterfuge faction of the Thai elite that for decades have prevented the people from having a say in how they are governed through a mix of naked force and deceit.

Rather than concerning ourselves with Skype calls, or rice schemes or the horrors of an elected senate, or the transfer of a civil servant, we care about the serial military coups, the systemic persecution of people who speak their mind on certain "sensitive" topics and people being stopped from even voting by a man who has appointed himself the man to govern of Thailand based on... well, his own ego one can suppose.

What makes the coup faction particularly unattractive is its constant and shrill shriek of "Checks and balances!" and "Rule of Law!" - generally (but not always) over some trivial and trumped up matter - all while ignoring (at best) or supporting (at worst) the constant and blatant violation of the most basic democratic rights.

So, in short, we don´t like Pheu Thai, we just hate you and your kind.

Well you formed it up nice;

We don't cocern ourselfs with sky calls. So you mean we are not concerned that The country is ruled out of Dubai?

We don't concern ourselfs with the rice scheme. So you mean we don't give a flying horse about the rice farmers.

We don't concern ourselfs with the transfer of a cival servant. So you say we don't care about the laws abd do what we want.

Your whole post is full of BS. And you know what, the most basic democratic right is having a government that is honest and don't fill there pockets.

You end with;

We don't like Pheu Thai, we just hate you and your kind.

I am not alowd to tell you what I think of you in my own words, because It will be against the rules of this form, but I think you need some professional help.

Thank's for doing what you should have done long ago, Suthep. Let the people have their government services and let the government workers earn their pay. Now the courts are in full motion, and hot on the trail of the corrupt PTP government, it's time to think about ending your protest.

Once the new Government is seated hopefully an appointed care taker Prime Minister. I guess by the Senate with the King's endorsement of it that they will make a change where it is needed put in penalties with teeth Like 5 years in prison for trying to buy a vote. and clarify some of the points do what they can to turn the police department into a honest working department. This of course will mean that a lot of the police men now in the force will have to look for work elsewhere.

You do know that none of this will happen, don't you?

In my last comment on one of your post's I did say I do some times read your post's as they are often well thought out, but your last was not quite there, Sorry Scamper this one takes the cake, although your post is well put together, it's just not the facts... Why you ask? Well If as you say the PTP supporters do not talk about all of which you have gone to great lengths to mention were in fact true, then you and others here would not be talking about any political issues now would they, but that's not the case now is it? What I would like to ask is why many Suthep supporters do not like to talk about his calling on his followers to detain( kidnap) the PM and MP'S and to make arrangements for their wives and kids in case of trouble, I find Suthep's supporters know this is off the planet but put their head in the sand on this one huh? But this is just one of many.

I have said it before The rice scheme was I feel a good intentioned policy, unfortunately many of the trusted persons to run it were not, and are corrupt, lying, thieves that serve them selves instead...

Interesting how rotten to the core they are when you put all their wrongs in one paragraph.

Singly one does not realize the depth of the moral bankruptcy they have. As for the UDD that is a sad case of people coming out and openly admitting they are not that brite and easily led down the garden path. Just further proof of the lack of education in Thailand.

This country stumbles sideays and backwards because of the incompetance of its leadership and those with vested interests in taking charge and creating much of the same. Just look at their collective track records. Mega projects, rice schemes etc...... where are the delivered improvement measures and track records for education, healthcare, road safety improvements, FDI, etc etc?

An Individual that is offering free food and drink to a band of Prozac driven individuals who enjoy Music.....A likeness to the The Pied Piper of Hamelin. This guy is systematically ruining Thailand and his supporters are somewhat brainwashed. His organisation is somewhat like a cult that needs to be disbanded. His comments earlier in the Bangkok Post regarding seizing people's assets and getting people to report to him bare a striking resemblance to Hitlers speech at the start of World War II

Any proof that the protestors are all on Prozac (or even a substantial percentage of them)? What do you have against people who enjoy music? For that matter, I enjoy music, so do you dislike me too?

He said on the day ruling by the court is announced, it will be the final push of the

PDRC to announce the people’s revolution and seize the sovereign power back to the people’s hand from the illegitimate government.

He said a new prime minister will be announced and all ministry’s heads are required to report to the PDRC.

The first task of the revolution will be to seize all the assets of the Shinawatra family, and ban all members of the family to leave the country.

He actually said more it is in the Bangkok post. There is no doubt what so ever that it is for the betterment of Thailand.

I do how ever believe he is going to far in seizing the government and demanding how the situation is to be handled.

Whilst I agree with you I really wonder where the country will end up? No one is paving a way forward for total reconciliation or ruling in the nations best interests. that is unfortunate. Many good words but is it too late already as other nations are cleaning their acts up Thailand is getting dirtier.

Satire alert... and those of you needing warning have been warned.

There are further comments in the BP and Nation that Lord Suthep will soon announce that people from Issan and Chiang Mai will be given provisional permission to breathe Bangkok air, that the Muslims in the south may go to the toilet on weekends, and that the 'right' voters may return to the polls ....as soon as the gerrymandering is complete.

I just pray he would give the rest of us permission to think on our own. Waiting for the text everyday to tell me how to dress are running up my phone bill.........and waiting for his emails to wipe my bottom is giving me diaper rash -- and I don't even have a diaper.

Please Messiah Suthep, tell us how to be free and when it will happen...the whole world is waiting...

When are you people in Bangkok going to wake and see that this POS lies every time he opens his mouth. He and his gang of thugs should be put behind bars. He will never answer to the murder charges against him and he is complaining about Thaksin. More doulbe standards from trashy ex govevernment.

Ah, the Nation fails to mention some of Suthep's more interesting comments tonight.

"We will seize the ruling power... we can announce ourselves the sovereign... What we say is law... We will appoint the prime minister of [our] people... After that, we'll set up the People's Council... reform before... a fresh election."

Chin up, hands on hips, il Duce Suthep.

Hopefully the Senate will - constitutionally - "seize the ruling power" and appoint an interim council of ministers and (possibly) a PM.

Suthep can be taken somewhere to deflate.

Unless I am mistaken, which is possible, there is some urgency about all this, at least from PRDC perspective and that of the agencies of the state that are tacitly supporting their objectives. PTP and their coalition partners will have a majority of the votes in the new Senate which takes up office on 18th April. If that is the case, Suthep would not have the support of the Senate, which of course he needs to push through his plans.

Suterp has only one reform; rest of the reform by others are for aesthetic and to be ignored when he achieved his victory. He only have personal jealousy with the Shin wealth and want to take that away; that's his reform.

It's a start. xmellow.png.pagespeed.ic.HU9LzmAHjt.png

but.. but... didn't Suthep say he's not "interested" in being PM, and didn't some of his farung fans insist on that statement as well?

Oh he doesn't want the be PM. As a wanted criminal that might be tricky anyway.

He just wants to personally and solely appoint one.
