US State Department Lost Track of $6 Bln Under Hillary Clinton

WASHINGTON, April 7 (RIA Novosti) – The US State Department has misplaced and lost some $6 billion over the past six years, mainly during the tenure of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, according to a released Inspector General report, cited by FOX News.

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) reports the missing funds have uncovered vulnerabilities in the management of contract file documentation, which apparently had started before Clinton became the US Secretary of State in 2009.

“The failure to maintain contract files adequately creates significant financial risk and demonstrates a lack of internal control over the Department's contract actions,” said the management alert, originally sent on March 20 and released just this week.

So, they have identified a problem and are clever enough to work out a solution, just fix it. This is not corruption or negligence, just a systemic problem that needed identifying and fixing, the same thing that large companies should be striving to do daily.

So, Hillary is be blamed for something instituted under the previous administration. Why did it take so long to find? Oh, yeah, government project. Well that 6 billion pales in comparison with the cash bribed spread around Iraq and Afghanistan at least.

" Government is like a baby. An alimentary canal with a big appetite at one end and no sense of responsibility at the other. "

Ronald Reagan

I love the way people quote the financial wit of the president who was probably most instrumental in pushing the country down the path to financial ruin by stoking the military industrial complex.

Reagan loaded the gun, W pulled the trigger. Presidents for the next century will be paying the bill. With our money, and the blood of our kids.

BTW, a drop in the bucket compared to past administrations. Notice the date.

"US State Department Lost track of $6 Bln Under Hillary Clinton." - No.

Under Secretary Hillary the State Department found that the State Department under Secretary Colin Powell had lost track of the funds during the Bush administration. That's a different read than what the title of the article states. It was well known now that during the Iraq invasion and establishment of an interim Iraq government by the US that pallets of hundred dollar bills were flown to Iraq and given to the new Iraq leadership handpicked by the Bush administration without any accounting at all. Furthermore, contrary to federal contracting laws requiring competitive bidding, the Bush administration hired former CEO Cheney's company Halliburton in sole source contracts to rebuild Iraq infrastructure costing billions of dollars, again without any audits of irs reimbursed expenses.

What difference does it make? whistling.gif

Quite a difference to her Presidential Campaign Fund! All America needs is an "Indifferent" President to follow the current Bungling Incompetent.

Vlad Putin would be laughing! Let alone Obama's mates in certain Arab countries.

The post is ridiculous. Of course there is no problem for Clinton because it is a non story.

And it will remain a non-story because the liberal main stream media will ignore it.

That's what they do.

The OP says this ".....the missing funds have uncovered vulnerabilities in the management of contract file documentation, which apparently had started before Clinton became the US Secretary of State in 2009."

It might be a good idea to note the word before and that it has to do with the vulnerabilities in the management of contract file documentation. Probably not much to directly with Clinton.

....Sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear, but maybe Fox News can put a better spin on it for you.
