Samsung Inverter Air Conditioner or Mitsubishi.

Okay I hear Mitsubishi Air Conditioners are the best, but a 13,000 BTU Mitsubishi Inverter is around ฿30,000, but a Samsung 18,000 BTU Inverter is around ฿24,000. The apps I have downloaded say I could get by with a 13,000 BTU unit, but the shops say I need 18,000 BTU. My room is 25 sq. metres and has big windows and faces south and west. The AC will be used almost only at night. My budget is no more than ฿30,000. Should I go with the Samsung or Mitsubishi?

13000 Btu would be very tight for 25 sqm room, and even than it depends on how el insulated the room is. I would go for the Samsung, it will give you some room in capacity. There are worse brands on the market.

I have to get a new one for our master bedroom about the same size as the op.its got to be 18,000btu.

but be careful if you are thinking about buying one of the new inverter models that your service guys have the knowledge for repairs or service. it happened to our neighbour her regular service guys didn't know how.

so its daikin 18,000btu the new siesta k series[at-18kv2s] 27,400bht.that price is the same everywhere.

or there's the Mitsubishi 17,400btu at around 25,000bht.

Samsung has a 18,559btu.at around 25,000bht.in homepro.

all these models are not the inverter models, just your every day units that will do for me.

The samsung is an inverter for that price, the mitsubishi and daikins are conventional ones.

Do a small partition in 25 sq. you only need the bed side to be cool at night by using curtain or wood partition depend on your budget . 8000 BTU enough with very cool as you cut the space to half and very save on your bills too. You don't need the whole room so the rest goes to waste and save the earth.

My bedroom is 3 by 5, where the bed is, and then 2.5 by 4, where the desk is. Maybe it would be cheaper to use 2 9,000 BTU units. At night when they would be used I only have to cool the room down to 25 to 28 Celsius, once at that temperature one AC would probably be enough to maintain it.

I agree with going 18K BTU in your room - 13K BTU would be very marginal - and undersizing an inverter negates it's energy saving abilities.

As for brand, I've never met an AC technician that would ever recommend a Samsung over a Mitsubishi.

About 30 months ago we decided to get aircon for our bedroom. I was set on buying a Samsung inverter. We went to the dealers, Nityumpanit in Chiang Mai who were offering good prices. They had Samsung, but had a good discount on a Panasonic Inverter system, I was undecided. A customer who spoke English made the point that the motors in the Panasonic (and also the Mitsubishi brand) were Japanese made and, in his opinion, were of better quality than the Korean made Samsung motors.

I went with the Panasonic Inverter, which (say this quietly) has given perfect trouble fee service, albeit used only at night.

Interestingly though, when the dealers installer came to fit the system, he said that he was a Samsung user and had them throughout his house !

Same as you probably never have met a technician who would recommend a Toyota or Nissan over a BMW, but that doesn't mean they are inferior brands.

Bad example there, hehehe :P

I also have a Samsung 18,000 inverter (6 months now) and I love it. It is much quieter and cools much faster than my Daikins. The remote control works much better and it looks much nicer. I am ready to buy another one to replace the noisy Daikin in the bedroom.

Our bedroom 3 by 6 meters. Jing joks can crawl through the cracks in the window frames. The fit is not good. I bought a 9,000 BTU Samsung about 9 years ago. The dealer said TOO SMALL. We only use it at night after the sun is down. I does a good job and has been trouble free except for the cleaning maintenance. I have a new 12,000 BTU Panasonic inverter in my computer room. I'm not real impressed. I should add that it is only used in the daytime. It may be undercharged because regardless of the set temp. It only reduces the air temp by about 6 degrees C. The computer room is also 3 by 6 meters.
