Be happy that your wife is the type of person who will fly home to visit/take care of a sick parent. How she treats her parents is a pretty good indicator of how she will treat you. You aparently have been the primary caretaker of the children, so she probably felt they were in good hands.

The working part I can't comment upon. Is daycare not an option?

My wife's mother has been ill for several years. She goes home to visit once or twice a year. I brought my 85 year old mother over here to live with us. My wife and her get along well, and my wife takes good care of her. She did tell me that if something happened to me, then my mother would have to return home to live with one of my brothers.

Thanks for that post PP, sometimes you need a break.wai.gif

Had the children minded today for a couple of hours and was able to get out and clear my head.smile.png

Came back and read your helpful post.

Their back at school soon so i'll have six hours a day to work, another three weeks and the wife will be back.

Also spoke to the wife today and she's a lot calmer, but the parent is still bad.

So Happy days.

OP,

not to ruin your day, but this may be a sure fire way to know whats going on, versus what you think

since the credit card bills come to your home, simply check to see when the ticket was purchased to go back to Thailand, conveniently, as Songram was taking place, and all her friends and family are back home,

if the ticket was purchased at the time of your discussion, then perhaps there has been no foul,

however,

if the ticket was purchased in advance, and only the "story" of the parent falling ill at the time of year, when all her friends and family are gathered around back home,

then, the only thing spontaneous in her story, is the parent being ill.

ticket purchased in advance of your being "consulted?"

you can throw the rest of the story out the window,

confronting her while she is across the world?

no,

but by all means, do some fact checking

you said on another thread that she is the main bread winner, that also means in her mind, she calls the shots, and the same as any one in her position, male or female, she will take the path od least resistance and tell you last minute what she is doing, when you have no time to object

I dont want to say you have been played here,

it sounds like it though

I am tying in the Songram, and the gathering of all her family and friends, and her ability to get there unencumbered by a husband and children.

Thank you for your lengthy reply, without going into too much more personal detail's i am happy with the fact's and the family.

the situation....well that's life.

I wish my msz would leave me with the kids. Permanently.

Ditto. At least she would get to school every day and not kept awake late at night whilst her mother satisfies her cravings for Whisky with her Thai mates.

And you can do nothing about it ?

She stays with me sometimes and when she does she gets all the love care and attention from me. To try and get full custody of her I think I would be pi**ing in the wind in Thailand, and sadly on my pension, I doubt I could afford a decent solicitor.
