Phra Buddha Isara injured by water canon, teargas

He shouldn't be afraid to die - because if he was really and honestly fighting for a higher cause, he will be reborn is a state of grace or he might even reach that state of enlightenment many Buddhists aspire for.. or are the temptations of Earthly desires too tempting?

If people really wanted to murder the fake monk, I doubt they would use a water cannon... Just a thought and not a suggestion...

Most people I have talked to , in Temples and outside of Temples, believe this monk is fake and will be reborn as a dog, or a buffalo, due to the bad karma he has generated and the damage he has done to Buddhism

Does anyone else feel that it's slightly absurd that, when one of the protagonists (and a monk, to boot !) wishes to enter the 'Centre for the Administration of peace and order', to talk with representatives of that supposedly neutral & peaceful organisation, he is greeted by police using tear-gas and water-cannon, rather than escorted inside to meet Chalerm or whoever ? blink.png

Shades of Burma & SLORC, or perhaps eternal friends Cambodia & Hun Sen, or what ! wink.png

No. It's shades of kid gloves for way too long. This 'monk' was trying to take over the office, as indicated in the satements by Suthep. He needs to be in a prison cell...really soon.

their brain will probably short circuit for a moment before they conclude thaksin must have paid them to say this (or some other such nonsense)... then the pain will go away, they might even blow their whistle once or twice.... and all will be well again in their little yellow bubble.

They said the same in Myanmar when monks led anti-government protests.

The worlds press is telling the worlds listeners what Suthep is all about...why are so many on here in denial. You speak English, turn the TV on and listen to what is being reported, we cannot discuss here but the international news can, read the article about the'judicial coup ' taking place....the courts making it up as they go along, the split in the army ranks....from The Wall Street Journal. Do something yellows but stop posting nonsense on forums, unless your just a WUM.

Protesters removed barbed barriers at 12:20 pm and the monk demanded the CAPO to send representatives to hold a talk with him.

Well what do you expect... such a demanding Monk... This facade should have been hosed long ago.

Teargas...had my share of it....

Not so bad if you keep your hands away from your face, especially your eyes.

Best thing is to wish for a good breeze, take off your shirt and hat, face the breeze and blow out the mucous.

The stuff remains in your clothing, thus remove as much as possible.

He was warned not to proceed. When he refused, he got what he wished for. More publicity for the fake monk. More fodder for the yellow shirts and fake democracy fighters.

Sad day indeed.

Does anyone else feel that it's slightly absurd that, when one of the protagonists (and a monk, to boot !) wishes to enter the 'Centre for the Administration of peace and order', to talk with representatives of that supposedly neutral & peaceful organisation, he is greeted by police using tear-gas and water-cannon, rather than escorted inside to meet Chalerm or whoever ? blink.png

Do you not feel that a "Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order' might find it helpful, to be available to talk peaceably to one of the protagonists, when they come calling ?

In the interests of maintaining peace and order, or negotiating, or whatever ?

There's no suggestion that things turned violent, before the police used gas & water-cannon, is there ?

How effective would CAPO be, if they're unable to negotiate about Peace and Order, but prefer to use tear-gas & water-cannon ?

If one turns round your statement, "When he refused, he got what he wished for", that might describe equally the UDD in 2010 and the Army.

<script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

I can see the headlines Monk killed by splashing water. cheesy.gif.pagespeed.ce.HaOxm9--Zv.gif alt=cheesy.gif width=32 height=20> What I joke he is.

Plenty of people ended up in hospital and a few even died (if I remember correctly) when the police last used tear gas against the protestors. The water was also tainted with chemicals too, and combine with the tear gas. It is not a safe environment, for all the jokes, it is not like songkran.

And you have proof of the use of tainted water with chemicals or are you just running from the mouth

No I am using the news reports at the time - and photographs - same as we all are, no? The water was purple! There was a lot of comment at the time on the chemicals in the water and the burning effect it seemed to have. However, even if that was untrue (the media and the imagery - not because I am lying!) it is still hardly splashing with water - you have obviously never seen the damage a water canon can cause, let alone military grade tear gas.

Yeah or when this 'monk" interrogated/detained and perhaps tortured? ..you and i will never really know but his attempt to give his buddy Suthep and his insurrection some sort of reverence faded on day one... get a clue...

Have you seen the little piggies

Crawling in the dirt?

And for all the little piggies,

Life is getting worse;

Always having dirt to

Play around in.

Have you seen the bigger piggies

In their starched white shirts?

You will find the bigger piggies

Stirring up the dirt

Always have clean shirts to

Play around in.

In their styes with all their backing,

They don't care

What goes on around.

In their eyes there's something lacking.

What they need's a damn good whacking.

Everywhere there's lots of piggies

Living piggy lives.

You can see them out for dinner

With their piggy wives.

Clutching forks and knives to

Eat their bacon. -George Harrison

The faces may change but the game stays the same. Reform that is necessary will take decades this power grab will be written as such historically...IMHO of course

Now that Yingluck is not at the helm I hope the police can finally use the necessary force required to put an end to illegal occupation of Changwantana. Water and tear gas is too nice for these people. Enough break-ins to the government buildings already, let the citizens and gov. workers get back to use these streets and buildings for what they are intended for!

Water, tear gas used at CAPO HQ

30233276-01_big.jpg

BANGKOK: -- Police guarding the government's Centre for the Administration for Peace and Order (CAPO) fired water and teargas at anti-government protesters and senior monk, Phra Buddha Issara, who led Friday's protest to the Royal Police Club, where CAPO is housed.

The monk, who has supervised the rally camp on Chaeng Wattana road for several months, walked unarmed to the entrance of the Royal Police Club. The door however was blocked with cement barriers and barbed wires.

Police warned the monk as he walked towards the gate that his demands and activities were illegal. The monk resisted and continued his approach only to be fired with a water cannon followed by tear gas.

He was whisked away by his security guards. He was seen suffering from eye irritation caused by the teargas. Five protesters were injured by the teargas and sent to a nearby hospital.

In the afternoon, the monk retreated to the Chaeng Wattana camp after being informed that a group of red shirts were trying to dismantle his stage.
