Just about everyone, including me, believes in psychic phenomena these days, right? I mean, the KGB, the CIA, those guys have programs where they utilize psychics, and they certainly know what they're doing. Right?

So I was thinking about Thai traffic this morning, how so many people pull in front of or tailgate someone else with impunity, in a way they'd never do back Stateside (I don't know about England and Australia). And they get away with it, time after time, without getting killed or maimed. I know there are lots of accidents here, but I've never actually seen one. So the answer came to me: they (Thais) are using their inbred psychic powers out on the road, to keep them safe, and to keep the traffic moving along at a reasonable clip, and to freak out farangs.

Then I started thinking about the poor farangs I read about here on TV, the ones who loathe Thailand and Thais and everything about the place, or so it seems. They think Thais are lazy, corrupt, uneducated, the list goes on and on. They also, almost to a man, think Thais don't like them.

Well? Bingo! There's your answer why. They KNOW what you're really thinking, and while they seem to tolerate you and let you stay around for another 90 days or so, they don't care for you too much, either. And who can blame them?

And yes, Sherlock, it's true that I, for many reasons, like Thailand and Thais. Been here long enough to know. And so far, 99% of them have treated me very well, just like I treat them.

I don't know about the people, but some of the dogs seem to be psychic. Our old dog was really sweet and gentle. She would lay around the shop and no bother anybody, but every once in awhile, she would jump and start barking away and shortly someone really weird or with someone wrong with them would pass by on the street. I don't know how she could tell that by their smell and without seeing what they looked like.

It`s all a load of crystal balls.

I have said it before my wifes psychic, I started a similar thread a couple years back. Friend of mine says the same thing.

Nothing to do with driving btw. Just general everyday stuff.

Thais seem to be able to tell if somethings not right, nothing to do with picking the lotto numbers type of psychic.

I often walk through this little alley where there are hundreds of people walking and there is one particular dog that could be fast asleep and unaware of all the people but as soon as I approach it wakes up and barks at me and runs away.

I have never done anything to hurt it (I love dogs and have many "friends" amongst the street dogs around here.

My only guess is that at some point in time a farang has done something bad to it and yes we probably smell different to Thais for a dog.

If the OP isn't a troll then you have a very different outlook than I do. The CIA and the KGB do not know what's going on. They are government agencies so they are generally speaking inept at what they do. The CIA did not spot the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, they did not see the collapse of the Soviet Union and the never saw 9/11 coming. Some of the biggest events of the last 35 or so years.

As for you suggestion that Thais use their psychic abilities to avoid accidents, I think the fact that Thailand has the 3rd highest death rate on the roads would suggest otherwise.

If believing in psychic abilities makes you happy then go for it. It's not for me.

Do you mean psychic doubters or physics doubters? The latter being the most important science whose theories help describe the nature of the universe and allow us all of the wonderful technology that make our lives so comfortable, or the former, a load of old nonsense that has no scientific basis or any independently documented evidence?
