Two visas in one passport

I got a triple entry visa used already once now back in Germany and noticing the change in visa law I thought maybe to apply for a second double entry. Any thoughts if this is even possible?

You can not have two active visas. They might give you a new visa, but will in that case cancel the existing one.

You cannot have more than valid visa at time in your passport. Is your 3 entry still valid? If yes when does it expire?

Even you managed to get 2nd visa you would be limited upon how long you could use it. It is possible it would almost be expired before you used all the entries on the other one.
