I take it that ALL the PDRC Leaders are being similarly blockaded from leaving the country and taken to army barracks - all in the interests of fairness that I keep on reading about here...............

Had to put a twist on the thread didn't you, no one is getting news-or very little, if people have done no wrong, they have nothing to fear.

Don't worry fab4 elections will be within a year or so. relax.thumbsup.gif

I am positive, I believe things will get better.

Of course, but for whom? Not the majority of voters in Thailand.

When the economy does well and there is peace it benefits all, doesn't it? Money politics did not seem to have done the job. I live in Bangkok and I can tell you Bangkok people are sick and tired of protests.

Just had a call from my friend who completed his 90 day visa run a hour ago!

No matter what you are reading here or elsewhere the boarder at the NK Friendship Bridge is OPEN to FARANG in both directions and Thais returning. Thai leaving are stopped hence all the parked up trucks. Plenty of Army but it's basically business as usual.

Im not up to date, is Mr. Jatuporn still threatening civil war and treating general Prayuth as his subordinate or he came to his senses already? I hope he is not shitting himself now as he has shown to be a very courageous speaker. Thai army has honour and cannot be bought with money.

Police state; never mind the 'criminals' supported & voted the gov into power, via the ballot box. Never mind they are no more or less crooked than the next or previous bunch. This is a rehearsal in microscosm of what Obama plans for the USA. He is only one good false flag op away from martial law. When democracy falls in the USA, it will fall everywhere. Hitler, Hirphito, MUssolini & Stalin all believed ultimate power comes from the barrel of a gun. It took the deaths of millions to prove them wrong.

So you need to learn more about Thailand. They are the true guardians of this country. They are not doing it for self interest but for the nation as a whole. Some of you guys are so negative about Thailand, why are you still here?

There is another aspect to this, the Nong Khai bridge is a main supply route of food and provisions into, land linked, Laos. Any disruption to the huge numbers of trucks carrying goods into Laos from Thailand would cause problems for the Laotians in a very short time. I hope that the 'coup meisters' will take this into consideration.

What is the logic of not allowing foreigners to enter? Is this an opportunity to make life difficult for foreigners staying in Thailand? They should be careful what they wish for...again. That phrase is constantly coming back to bite Thailand in its a.s.

Anyone care to calculate how many billions of $ foreigners (not tourists) contribute here?

Army should expose that criminal on a pillory in front of the Royal Palace in BKK, and let all the bypassers at least slap him once in the face !!!

And put Chalerm and Tida left and right from him also on a pillory !! ( with their trousers on their ankles... biggrin.png )

Indeed Jaturporn said many times that as soon as their is a coup his people will be on the streets to fight them. All quiet on the western front?

Could be very inconvenient to tourist's who's laos visa would expire that day,or had onward transport to Bangkok for a flight, just more nails in the coffin that Tourism to Thailand is becoming.

....and the Rohingya....

What about Rohingya? If they want to visit Thailand should they not need a visa like everybody else? Getting to Thailand illegally is not tolerated obviously and they are not welcome here if they come by boat. Unanimosity, what country are you from? Perhaps your country should take all Rohingya in and give them asylum.

Chalerm was forced to make a grovelling apology to the army chief and supreme commander for making similar comments about them before the 1991 coup. Jatuporn will lucky if he gets away with just an apology. There are enough charges pending against him that the judiciary may do the job for them.
