Not a good time for any common criminal to get arrested in Thailand.

Some guys do deserve what they did/ had done. Others might sit in, for A FRIEND.Not all did something wrong. More money is more rights.-thumbsup.gif

Are they real policeman? The one on the left looks like has just finished his shift at Big C warehouse,, I think they bought those police hats from the market along with their pink handcuffs from the "adult entertainment" stall.

Also, not much of a French name really,,, I was expecting something like Jean Paul Camembert.

Whatever his name good riddance, he will be known as a number very soon whilst at his majesties pleasure in the Bangkok Hilton,, lovely,,

Good to see another low life piece of scum cleansed off the street.

Who cares if he is French, Algerian, Catholic, Muslim, Expat, Tourist, Straight, Gay or whatever.

Well done, to the police.

(By the way, I assume that if you look anything like the French national football team, then you could also be French).

"Frenchman" would be better written with brackets, this kind of thug puts all of us to shame.

No thanks to the French government liberal immigration policies, now, all the jetsam

and flotsam of the African/Arab world are calling them selves "French men "...

and in a decade or two, you will be hard pressed to see a real French man in France...

Jawad is the new name fror Francois ? What a great typical French name !

Jawad means Francois in the EU language.....like Hussein means Bob in the US...The next German PM's name will be Antonio.....We live in a "Global" community now.....Generalization is a word of the past....Russian women in Pattaya are learning Thai for "business" porpoises....Thai rich men loves blondes with blue eyes!!!!

Expatriate (expat) is a person living outside of his/her country of origin. Nothing to do with work, just living outside your own country makes you an expat.

France, like other colonial powers, suppressed it's North-African colonies Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco. When the colonies became independent the people had the right to either stay or come to France and get a French passport. That's why many french passport holders originate from North Africa. An ongoing internal joke amongst the French is the question: What is the first Arab city of the Dakar rally? Answer: Marseille...

We Dutch had the same development. Colonies like Indonesia and Surinam became independent and people had the choice to stay or come to Netherlands and get a Dutch passport. Reason why many Indonesian and Surinam people have a Dutch passport. It's a small pay-back for periods of suppressing and plundering colonial areas.

I agree that the guy in the OP was arrested for scamming, nothing to do with his origin.

The word expat has taken on a new meaning in Thailand - seems to mean any foreigner who stays in Thailand over a week is branded with that name.

Long gone are the days when the name really carried some meaning.

An expat - by definition - is a person who works and pays taxes (!) in a country other than his home country.

The OP is not clear whether this is the case.

no, it is not a French, he is of French nationality but its origins are from an African country. .
We should not mix.
