Dunno.

Try Air Asia, they often have domestic promos that will be the same as a bus, or just a bit more.

Try telling my misses that flights do not cost much more lol. All i get is 'save money' from her. Ha ha. Will check flight prices again and try to explain to her.

She is travelling with child to meet me when I arrive in Bangkok.

Really wondering if they are allowed to run still at night with the coup.

Well Isaan as she really is travelling from Amnat Charoen.

Thanks. I can get a return flight for her and child at £46. £51 for decent times. Works out around 600 baht each, each way anyway. So same as the awful long bus journey. I'd prefer the one hour flight myself to 8 hours on a bus. Will try to convince the misses. Will take some doing lol. Another tragic accident with a bus recently i read. Planes are much safer.

Save life or save money - tell wife she is too good for bus.... you love too much to lose face being cheap farang by taking chance on accident - especially at night - ghosts of bus accident victims might be out there.... clap2.gif Good luck....

I actually got the flight price wrong. It was for each person and not the total for both together. So i inadvertently lie to my misses about the cost being the same as the bus. Oh well it's booked and she accepted it in the end. She was gonna pay with money I previously sent her. But she has paid enough on documents I requested and she caved in and allowed my to get her the tickets. result for once lol. OK part of that is me getting them return tickets and myself a plane ticket one way for their return leg, so i don't have to ride on the bus ha ha ha

A falang whose finances are controlled by his Thai wife? I've never heard of that happening!

Posted

Pmsl. No controlled. She stops me spending rather than spends it. She understands the value of money. I'd say that was a good influence.

No I searched prices on skyscanner. This was the cheapest price.

its really great to see so many farangs moving into the somtam triangle between amnat and Muk, it has become an international metropolis, our first drive from the docks at Bangkok to Amnat took us more than 10 days , some of us driving lowloaders or graders, repairing bridges as we went, then the tarmac only went as far as Korat, most of the concrete bridges in and around Amnat to leong nok tha were built by us English squaddies in the early 60,s , we introduced the first apples to the villages, and we made the aquaintantace of lao khao and som tam peht,on a recent visit I thought I was at a united nations gathering when we went shopping at amnat, what amazed me was the farang style properties on the grounds of the old leper colony, cant wait to get back after our sojourn in spain.wai2.gif
