Rental Car Long Term Needed Rawai area

Featured Replies

Need to rent an automatic car , toyota or honda, 4 doors, (no manuel) (1-3 months )

Can you recommend what company to use that is reliable, and easy to work with,

Live here 7 years , we can speak thai and would like a decent price , not a tourist price if possible.

thank you for your input

I appreciate your help.

Rawaii will be all personal cars from small companies or individuals with unknown insurance situation. It's going to be hard to find one that will rent without keeping your passport. (Never do that.) If you want to be hassle free, use an established international company or a large, local chain like Pure Car Rent in town. They offer drop off and pick up service. I have used them a couple times. They will rent to you after taking an imprint of a credit card (not debit card) if you have one. http://www.purecarrent.com/

The few times I rented a car or looked into renting a car, I have never known there to be a difference in price for expat vs. tourist.

What is your budget for a rental car? Don't need to keep your passport and the cars are insured.

Best of luck, for that price you will end up with a old clunker

Expect to pay double that or more for a decent car with full insurance

Look for the Phuket Auto Trader group on Facebook. I agree with ned above, for 9-10K it won't be new or nice. 14K seems about as cheap as you'll get for something reasonably new. By the way, if in an accident in a private car and the insurance company finds out that the owner rented it out, could make for a difficult situation.

I agree especially for 1 - 3 months. 14,000 would be a 'good' price. But I doubt it would include real full insurance even at 14,000.
