irishsmile
PP, it's like everywhere else, and I mean everywhere, it all gets run of the mill after you get used to it day after day. What did you do in your home country to alleviate the boredom ? In the Uk there just seems to be more going on, sport, parties, jump on a train and go somewhere easily, it's easier to get to places etc, proper pubs and beer gardens, plus you have more family etc, see your nephews, visit the old dear on a sunday etc...I think the heat here also detracts you from wanting to do things... Seems you are homesick Pat, and you have just answered a solution above to your boredom! Go back to the uk for awhile and take a break and catch up with old friends and family, Soon you will be itching to get back to Thailand .

You don't think I should go out and feed some stray dogs then?
jimmybkk
For the last time I'm talking about Thailand not just Pattaya, it's pretty much the same everywhere here. Name me one street anywhere where there are normal people just wandering around the shops on their own or with family at their leisure, free of danger, maniac drivers, being pestered etc on wide clean even pavements...it simply doesn't exist here. In most countries you can go out your front door (on foot) go for a stroll around the local shops, the park etc spend an hour and come back... If there is anything for YOU to do in Pattaya, you'd have already found it. Face it: you hate Pattaya, post nothing but useless negativity accompanied by your favorite icon (), and have little but contempt for Thais. Unlike many old Brits here, you always compare the UK to PTY favorably. So the best possible thing for you is move back to the UK before it's too late. That's the only way you'll be happy. You just don't belong here, period. PP,you have answered your own question, cya.
JSixpack
Back home you can do simple nice things like go for a walk around the shops with your daughter, nice wide pavements, it's clean, it's safe, civilised folk of all ages walking around. but here you can't even do simple pleasures like that. The place stinks, it has no pavements, all and sundry are looking at you like you are from mars and you would be afraid some physcho driver is going to mount the pavement and wipe you out....joke place. Well, stick a fork in this thread; it's done! SOLUTION FOUND! Pack your bags, man!!! This is IT, this is really IT, the bee's knees, the dog's bolox, paradise. YES! The Villages Be sure to peruse the Town Squares section.Sorted! Why are you still hangin' around here? This is IT. Ten women to every man, a black market in Viagra, and a 'thriving swingers scene': Welcome to The Villages, Florida Swimming in cheap booze and sunshine 'every night is Saturday night' One of its most infamous residents was a retired biology teacher who called his manhood Mr Midnight Best of all, of course, is that "you can do simple nice things like go for a walk around the shops with your daughter, nice wide pavements, it's clean, it's safe, civilised folk of all ages walking around." (PS: wanna get my wife one of those Chang-girl uniforms - any ideas? )
