Once. Never again. Stuck in China waiting for my delayed connection for 9 hours however rather than say there was an 9 hour delay they kept just extending it hour by hour. Awful.

China overall has a bad reputation for on time arrivals. I flew these guys one time a few years ago. Nothing interesting to report. It was a plane and it was OK. Nothing special though. But cheap!!! LOL

A friend flew them to the USA last year and said he wouldn't fly them again. Very tight seating and crummy food were his main complaints.

If you do fly them, there is a 72-hour transit visa available for stays within Guangdong province (Canton). It is handled through the airline, you don't need a visa for China itself.

I am most definitely agree with that sentiment.

When I was taking off from Shanghai, there was a four-hour delay and we were stuck on board the aircraft the whole time and I missed my connection with their own airline. They gave us no explanation as to why the plane was delayed like that and it was only through me kicking up a fuss that they agreed to accommodate me overnight halfway through the journey so I could get my connecting flight the next morning. They put me up in a pretty crappy hotel.

I wrote to them to complain about this and I didn't even receive a response.

They are no more than a glorified budget airline.bah.gif

Flying domestic economy with them last year was as close to hell as I would like to be. Breakfast was some sort of ball shaped thing wrapped in tin foil that was thrown at me and the seat pitch was about 2 inches less than what was required for my legs. Not the airlines fat but don't get me started on the passengers hawking up whatever into the sick bags through most of the flight. Only business or premium economy for me now when in China

Read the same report on seating on the Heathrow Bangkok routing. Dreamliner seat pitch shows 32" on Seatguru but everyone claims 28" charter pitch at best

I guess I was lucky. I flew them in March from Bangkok to Los Angles with a connection in Guangzhou (Canton) and the flight between China and Los Angeles was on the A380 and the seats were great and the food was ok. I didn't feel like i was compromising anything for the much cheaper fare than any other airline offered. The Bangkok to Guangzhou flight was a 737 and had a meal - the leg room was typical. The layover in Guangzhou is tedious - the airport is in need of an update - but I really didn't feel unsafe while flying with them. All flights were ontime and I saved US $300 as compared to the fares of other airlines.
