Has anyone done this route recently? What are the roads like and the taxi price etc? Are there any towns worth stopping over the night?

Any help would be great.Regards

driving it a few times via Samrong to the border ( 2-3 hours) excellent road

via Sisophon- Banteay Chhmer ( great old temple an very few people) Samrong 4-5 hours

once u turn off towards BC from Sisophon its hard packed dirt

Sisophon has basic gh but no reason to stay,

BC has home stay accomodations

Parts of the national highway are a disgrace. Poorly managed highway maintenance that causes delays in the journey.

Without this, Siem Reap to Osmach can be done in 2 hours in a decent car. Allow 2 and a half hours.

I pay $55 for a taxi because I use a regular driver - I am sure it can be done for less.
