Hi

I would like to translate the following:-

" there was an emptiness in the depths of my soul(or inner being) yearning for fulfillment"

ความว่างเปล่าในวิญญาณมีความปรารถนาอย่างแรงกล้าการทำให้พอใจของ ฉัน

Far from perfect I - can anyone help?

Hell Neeranam,

I don't really have a Thai word for "soul" that fits this sentence so I replaced it with "heart". The literal translation of the Thai sentence below is " In my heart, there is an emptiness that wants someone to fullfill". Not sure if that's what you are looking for. Hope that's alright

ในหัวใจของฉัน มีความว่างเปล่าที่อยากจะให้ใครสักคนมาเติมเต็ม"

Both my sources (Thai English.com) and Domnern/Sathienpong) gave วิญญาณ as 'soul/spirit conciousness"

I'd have a pop at

"The emptiness in my soul has me desiring/yearning for courage and strength to give me satisfaction/fulfilment"

Writing love letters or poetry Neera?

Maybe something like

(ฉัน)รอคอยเพียงเธอมาเติมความว่างเปล่าในใจฉัน

I am only waiting for you to fill the emptiness in my heart.

Thanks guys.

No, not writing poetry or love letters.

It's more a spiritual thing - kinds hard to explain.

Like there was a hole in my inner being that needed filled. I filled it with alcohol and drugs in the past but then found that it could be filled with spiritual stuff.

Does this read ok?

ลึกลงไปในจิตวิญญาณของฉันมีความว่างเปล่าที่กำลังรอคอยการเติมเต็ม

of course, it sounds ok. but i think the translation can sound more powerful.

"ในจิตวิญญาณเบื้องลึกของฉัน ความรู้สึกว่างเปล่ากำลังรำ่ร้องหาการเติมเต็ม"

*รำ่ร้อง sounds close to the word yearn (v. wish very strongly for something)

Hopefully, it helps.

:)
