Argentina striker Gonzalo Higuain has been nursing an ankle problem but is likely to play alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero in a 4-3-3 system.

Fellow forward Rodrigo Palacio hurt his ankle in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago and is set to miss out.

Bosnia and Hercegovina boss Safet Susic may drop striker Vedad Ibisevic in order to bolster his midfield.

Sabella is being very cagey about his formation for this game. Not much info coming out about Higuain. 5-3-2 apparently being considered with Messi and Aguero up front. Looks like we won't know until close to match time.

What a strike force [possibly even without Higuain] and have to feel for Bosnia lining up against the Argies.

If Bosnia can keep the deficit down to 4-0 they'd have done well.

I'm looking forward to watching Argentina, so I'll be setting my alarm to get up and watch this one.

For me there are few better sights in football than Messi running at terrorizing opposition defenders and I hope this is the World Cup where he replicates form for Barcelona.

Argentina could have a really big tournament. Many people's favourites, I'm sure Sabella and co would love nothing more than to win the World Cup in Brazil.

....assuming Argie win. I always root for the underdog. I predict they'll lose against Bos-Herz Edited by boomerangutang

Argentina will line up in a 5-3-2 tonight. No Higuain and no Gago. I can't remember Sabella going with this line up in any WC qualifier. Best guess is Higuain ain't fit and maybe Gago the same. Sabella won't discuss the "whys". Argentina could be weak in the link up from back to front with this formation and personnel. Mascherano will probably play a bigger role moving the ball up the pitch and Messi dropping back to pick it up. Di Maria might be busier as well with distribution. If that doesn't cut it I expect Enzo Perez to come on.

The stage is set. Argentina are the best team, they are as near to being at home as they could ever be and they have the best player of recent times just itching to put a marker down.

What can possibly go wrong.....?

Sleep inducing first half which I definitely don't need. Argentina struggling a bit with Bosnia's man marking of Messi and harassment of Aguero. They look a little out of sorts with this 5-3-2, anxious and impatient.

Argies much better in the second half with the 4-3-3. Overall though a pretty poor performance. Good thing they are in a weak group. Sabella with some work to do. Close to a howler by Romero for Bosnia's goal and the Argentina faithful will again be wondering why Willy Caballero of Malaga wasn't picked by Sabella.

Yes, agreed.

Better in the second half, Argentina won without playing all that well. Perhaps the sign of a good team?

I'd like to hope so Scarf but the jury is out. Higuain being at half speed really is damaging for Argentina. Most fans don't realize how important he is. Creates tons of space for himself and others. Smart footballer.

Argentina was way too impatient today. They are used to banging away on the counter with success, but too many wayward passes today and not enough holding the ball and waiting for something to develop. They were all guilty of that, especially Di Maria.

Poor game with one flash of genius from Messi. The arrival of Higuan created more space for Messi and hopefully we will see much more of the Special one in the games ahead. I would have serious doubts about Argentina going all the way.

Messi apparently made up for it a day later and met personally with the little fella. I saw a photo somewhere.

Here's Messi and the troublesome little blighter.post-170460-0-98275100-1403093228_thumb.
