South Africa have won the toss and elected to bowl.

So England get to have a go with the bat early doors.

Come on England.

Scorchers just about wrapping the game up here against the heat.

Pretty mediocre game really.

I prefer the close games obviously.

No England two wickets down for 16 after the rain interrupted start.

No fooling Dar very good umpire.

Sadly a great decision.

England beginning to make a bit of a stand now.

This Australia v West Indies test series is a total farce.

This Australia v West Indies test series is a total farce.

One has to wonder about WI,the talent playing in the big bash would easily put up a better effort.

It's as if they don't want to be there IMO.

Take nothing away from Australia but this is far from competitive test cricket.

Hopefully the second day in Durban South Africa will be more interesting.

Deserved wicket for SA England 3 down now, some good bowling.

So declare by lunch with a lead of 340+ and a day and a half to bowl them out?

I'll have to grab a replay of that.

He's a NSW player I'm guessing?

No. He is actually the captain of WA Sheffield Shield side but not captain of the Scorchers Big Bash team.

Ahhh...probably couldn't get a game in NSW so headed West. Smart man

Would like him in WA but he's the South Australian captain for shield and matador cup.

Sixers are having a bad run with injuries.

You better get on Sydney Thunder Bookman, there on top and looking the goods early.smile.png

Just looked on cricinfo and Head went from 45 to 100 off of

14 balls.

Edit: Head is one of the players I mentioned in an earlier

post that Dean Jones reckons will eventually play for Australia.

Speaking of salaries for players.

I thought the Big Bash didn't have a high cap.

I was surprised to learn that some of the imports are on over $300 000.

Michael Carberry for the Scorchers, who can't get a game at the minute is on $300 000 plus.

Great money for 5 weeks work.

Could this be the turning point for Domestic Cricket in Australia and the turn away from test matches? 80,000 at the MCG for a domestic BBL match. 50,000 in Adelaide the other night Big Bash: Record crowd sparks MCG frustration

MELBOURNE: Cricket Australia have apologised to fans stranded outside the MCG after new security measures failed to cope with the record Big Bash League crowd that turned out to watch the Melbourne Stars take on Melbourne Renegades.

The previous BBL attendance record of 52,637 set at Adelaide Oval, was broken by the time James Faulkner bowled the first ball of Saturday night's match, with 56,674 fans inside the ground.
