Uruguay will be hoping that they haven't lost any of their bite, despite the suspension of star striker Luiz Suarez.

Their opposition, Colombia, impressed in the group stages. Even though they lost star striker Radamel Falcao to injury before the tournament began, they managed to score 9 goals in their opening 3 group matches and have the best shot conversion rate (31%) of any team at the tournament, according to the BBC.

Shot conversion, group stage of 2014 World Cup:

Colombia - 31%

Netherlands - 29.4%

Algeria - 25%

Germany - 24.1%

Chile - 22.7%

There could be goals as Uruguay will want to prove they aren't completely toothless without Suarez.

Watch out for James Rodriguez for Colombia who has been excellent in the tournament so far.

I still think Uruguay is at best an average team.

Yes they have a couple of world class players, which one of them will be missed.

This should be a match where Colombia progress.

Of course, a red card here or there, or an own goal, can change the entire picture of a match.

All the hype around Suarez might have united the Uruguay team.

We will see.

Did anyone outside Uruguay want them to win?

I don't think so.

Yup, I agree and it says a lot about England.sad.png

i went to the mom and pop store in the soi this morning for ' essential supplies ' and was told " Uruguay Klab Baan ".

The owner is a ' lifelong ' Liverpool fan and assures me they must sell Dracula, his words.

Your'e stuffed Luis when a Thai Liverpool fan who couldn't find England on a map thinks you are surplus to requirements.

it was the first Colombia match during the WC I have seen, and while they are a very sympathic team, not playing dirty URU style football (they got only one yellow card in three group matches), have fantastic Fans and it's a great country in general (been to both Colombia and Uruguay in May), I did not find them very convincing, apart from the two neat goals they scored. The Urus with their limited means got them quite into trouble in the second half, and I doubt the Cafeteros will be able to stop Brazil in the Quarterfinals. I rather thought Chile would be more able to make Brazil stumble, but instead they suffered one of the most heartbreaking WC-exits ever seen....
