Thaivisa signing-in problems

Featured Replies

I am experiencing a number of signing-in problems with the Thaivisa site in the way I don't with Facebook or Gmail for example.

Firstly, I am completely unable to sign in at all unless the "Remember Me" box is ticked, which I would prefer not to have to do despite being the sole user of my laptop.

Secondly, although I do still appear to be signed in when accessing the Thaivisa site subsequently, I get error messages informing me that I don't have the permission to do this and that when accessing PM's or attempting to start new threads or reply to existing ones.

Thirdly, whenever I do attempt to sign out before signing in again I get an apologetic error message informing me that, oops, I had done something wrong!

Are these problems something I shall just have to live with, or is it possible to remedy then through tweaking a few settings, perhaps?

Grateful for advice from all you internet buffs (of whom I am most definitely not one) out there.

You might recover from this problem by deleting cookies and browser history. Not sure which browser(s) you use, but if you click an icon or two towards the top right of your screen, will eventually come to a 'tools' facility that will enable you to undertake both of these actions. AA

If you are using Windows 8 or 8.1, that may be part of the problem. It seems ThaiVisa does not work well with Windows 8/8.1.

I posted about this signing in problem many months ago and one answer I got was to not use IE. I have the same problem when I use Mozilla Nightly. I have found a way to make Nightly work for signing in and out, but it does not work the way ThaiVisa worked for me in the past.

Another problem I had was if I did sign in to ThaiVisa with IE 11, in order to get signed out I had to have certain boxes in the Delete Browsing History checked or unchecked or I would still be signed in or not signed in irregardless of what the "signed in" indicated on the ThaiVisa forum page. One that has to be unchecked is Preserve Favorites Web site Data. Also, the internet cache has to be cleaned at a particular time during the mess of getting signed out of ThaiVisa.

I believe the way Windows 8/8.1 and IE 11 handles cookies has been changed and ThaiVisa has not or will not make changes to work with Windows 8/8.1 and IE 11..... just my opinion.
