Any Place in Phuket to get new power cord for a laptop?

Featured Replies

Hi!. I've got an older HP Pavilon Notebook, about three years or so. Recently the power cord seems to be a bit on the fritz, it's overheating more than normal. Anyone know if there's anywhere in phuket I can get an original made my HP replacement? A few years back I once bought one at Panthip IT mall in Bangkok but that was passing through Krungthep.

Thanks!

There are usually two parts to a laptop power supply.

If you are wanting to replace both the AC Power Cord and the Switching Power Adapter (or Power Brick) you will need to find one specific to your laptop.

It will need to match the OEM specifications for

Output Power rating (Voltage, Amperage)

Connector style and connector polarity

Some accessory manufacturers (like APC, Belkin, Kensington, Targus, et.al. ) make Universal Laptop Power Adapter that are compatible with a range of manufacturers.

Other times, it's necessary to look up replacement units using the Laptop model number

I would suggest doing a Google search using your laptop Make & Model Number, with the words Power Adapter, and see how much the online people want

Many power cords available at Future Computing in basement of Big-C, staff generally knowlegable. Look in the far right corner in boxes on the floor. Also in the shop at the very top of Big-C, but the help there is woefully computer illiterate.
