Sending some INRs to an Indian Bank

Featured Replies

I need to send around 4000 Rs to a company bank account in India. They won't take visa unfortunately.

What is the most cost effective and/or quickest way to do this? Can it be done via my Bangkok Bank account or should I use someone like Western Union.

Thanks

Indian companies often won't take 'foreign' credit cards anyway, so even if they did accept VISA it could have been a dead end.

India also has some of the most archaic and complex foreign exchange laws I've come across, couple with Thailand's money export rules and the bank option may falter as well, certainly worth a try mind.

Western Union certainly remit to India, if you can get a person at the other end to accept you should be in with a chance.

Be mindful of the tax implications for the receiving end if sending to a company.
