Storm Damage Along Kata Beach

Featured Replies

We have not been able to have our usual morning walk along Kata Beach for a few days due to poor weather. What a surprise today. Never seen such beach erosion, many trees fallen down, pavement opposite Club Med damaged. Just as well the beach vendors had been cleared out, else the water would have done the job.

So much for the pristine clear beaches now that the beach vendors have been cleared out. BUT now there is nobody the keep the beach clean of all the rubbish washed up along the high tide mark line. What a sad looking mess at Kata Beach. There are some scavengers picking up anything they can sell, and to be fair Club Med had a squad of men cleaning up in front of their entrance. And the local tesibaan had some of their workers cleaning up into a truck. Also tesiban guys installing a replacement metal stairway from pavement down to the sand.
