For visa to visit Europe, which insurance company in Thailand is recommended to buy travel insurance?

I just got LMGs policy for my gf to go to UK. It covers health, baggage loss, etc, BUT it only starts 2 hours before scheduled departure time, by which time you should be checked in. So if we got ill or had an accident driving to the airport, the cost of cancelling the ticket would not be covered. Not very expensive.....BHt 1200 for up to 3 weeks.

My partner uses Columbus Direct, whilst they are based in the UK you can buy online from Thailand within their rules.

Far better coverage than any Thai company we could find, as I recall they are competitively priced.

Another good company is World Nomads, you can book and claim online, they're a subsidiary of BUPA.

Columbus Direct only cover up to age 64. After that they consider you a bad risk!

Bought LMG AGA Worldcare fully comprehensive insurance for two passengers for 23 days.

but make absolutely sure you meet their criteria for Thailand Residency.

 

My departure is not until 21 September, but I bought and paid for the insurance 1 July, in order to get the trip cancellation cover.

Price for 2 people for comprehensivecover for the actual trip THB4,780, including cancellation cover from date of policy issue to date of return to Thailand.

 

Their staff are very helpful, and very knowledgeable, and very responsive to any enquiries. I e-mailed twice, both times getting a response in 24 hours.

Oh! we had a bad experience with LMG, they did not want to pay our claim, and we are really not guilty, they are simply looking for an excuse not to pay!

Read the blogs and you will see that they have a reputation NOT to pay, for a silly reason.
