Went for the yearly insurance sticker. Was refused (after 5 years of no problem) because my greenbook says "color red" but it's red with a bit of orange ! ?

Are you saying that government insurance was refused because the colour of the bike did not match the description in the registration book ? Never ever known any insurance agents to even physically look at the bike.

All the agents have got stricter from about two years ago.

I have used the same agent for years. First time I used them, I took the bikes in and they took rubbings of the frame number.

After that, I didn't need to present the bikes again........until two years ago. Now they insist on checking the serial numbers each and every year.

Not surprised at all about problems with colour of bike in reality and what's in the book.

You can go to the transport office and have them change the colour in the book. I did this several years ago when I picked colours other than what was registered.

I had the same type of problem with my truck registration this year. The agent for government insurance and smog check (same guy I've used for eight years) said my blue book didn't say my truck had a "Carry Boy" so he had to take my truck to PLTO, get it photographed and send everything to Bangkok for a new blue book. Oh well, the old blue book was almost full. The Carry Boy even says Nissan right on it, it was original equipment, not an add on. Amazing Thailand… Just pay and smile.

Blimey! My Toyota Tiger has a Carryboy "roof basket" and Carryboy front "nudge guard" (slightly dented due to 80kph dog. RIP.)

No mention in the Blue Book of either and never had a problem with the government tester in Phuket town. Fortunately I'll be selling it soon - before the next test  biggrin.png .
