Sad to say that MissFarmGirl hates the smell and taste of Lamb.

A beef steak with sautéed mushrooms and I'm in for a week ... w00t.gif

But Lamb ... bah.gif

I'll just have to educate the boys myself on that one.

.

grilled lamb chops taste excellent, as well as roasted lamb leg.

Lamb

Another byproduct are the intestines, which sausage producers can use as casings to make better wieners and frankfurters instead of using that disgusting synthetic casing.

My lady tried it once on my insistence.

Verdict: Never again! It smells manure! Kind of 'cultural' thing.

Fair enough... I hate many Thai dishes (not all).

555 a Thai complaining that food smells bad !!!

I am told footrot is a problem here, also they do not get enough fat with the constant heat, Dorper are farmed a bit here though

If foot rot is a problem ,can you visualize a Thai farmer trimming a ewes foot ?,probably would not know to start, as for a foot bath.,dream on.

Most sheep here are tropical breeds, with a high degree of resistance to most things,if they are any problems it is a management problem, not the sheep.

I'd say it would be too hot for them plus the grass isn't so good.

I don't think the heat has anything to do with it. Some of Australia's largest Sheep Stations (Ranches) are situated in far hotter places than anywhere in Thailand. Maybe the natural fodder is no good and they cannot stand very wet conditions under feet as they get foot rot.
