Growing a thick skin helps you to deal with friendly banter on Thaivisa and helps protect against dog bites. Don't be a dour Scots whinger, man up and deal with those dogs.

Now have a driver so no need for me to confront these damn dogs anymore mate. Thank you for your input and main reason was getting a little irate at this constant slurry of insults that tend to get on one's nerves after a while.

Welcome back whereyoustay.

Sorry to hear about the dog attack, although I've often found them to be good judges of character.

Well, that's very true. This website is packed with bitter drunks and bored old fatties who vent their disappointment and envy on other farangs. I guess that's their burden they'll have to live with. We won't let it affect us, they are irrelevant and kind of pathetic anyway.

I always run after aggressive dogs and kick the s*it out of them, even in the owner's front yard.

I have found that both dogs and humans steer well clear of nutters.....

Thanks, Scott.

I had a laugh of the week.

Thai dogs - racist/xenophobic! Dogs have better noses than people. Maybe they find your smell different? Dogs can perceive fear and attack. Maybe you are afraid of dogs?

Thai dogs - corrupt! Try to bribe them by something tasty. Be careful though - if the treat is not enough - they might eat you.

Thai dogs - cowardly! Try to carry a 1,2 m cane stick. You get respect and even may be accepted as the Leader of the Pack.

Thai dogs - are Thai! This is their country. Try to move to a place not marked by their piss-poles.

Thai dogs - are dogs! Try to study dog psychology. Beware of the fact that group (pack) psychology is different from individuals. Just like in humans.

Thanks again for a good laugh. Do not get upset. Some of my jokes have good ideas in them. Peace...

1) dogs can sense fear.

If they know you are afraid, they will attack.

2) dogs are very good judges of character and intent.

If you are untrustworthy, shifty, sneaky or plan to do wrong, they will know and respond.

I have had dogs who just didn't like certain people I thought were my friends.

In time these people proved the dogs to be right.....they actually were bad, untrustworthy people.

Helpful hint:

I worked for a utility company for years.

The meter readers were always in danger of bites from dogs.

The best method of protection they found was....

A stick, like a broom stick about 4-5 ft long with a punctured tennis ball on the end of the stick

If approached by an angry dog, present the ball on the stick.

The dog will grab the ball and stay that distance from you.

This should give you a chance to evade him.

I have seen this work a few times.

It never hurts to have a good walking stick.

Neither one nor the other (happened some times) but surely not a bad news (early retirement of our common friend this member)

As for the legend poster it must be a confusion between two names Mr neverdie smile.png

You don't know Simon that well Scot, he was deadly serious. He's the president of the nutters club. ;)

Dago Esq,

I willl leave it now, the bones help the k9 clean their teeth.

I secretly am hoping the deceased is not scot as he provides much entertainment, albeit wacky entertainment to the forum.

Please report all other matters to my toll free number.

Great investigative work Meaty!

I would like to hear RolandRats take on this as there is normally two sides to every tale. Maybe scot was trying to have his evil way with our rodent friends & they turned on him? Just a though because I'm led to believe scots a mad roota ;)

Who wants to carry a water pistol or large stick wherever you go? I bet Thai people aren't going to like to see a foreigner with a large stick hurting their dogs.

Has anyone seen the American TV show The Dog Whisper with Cesar Milan? Confidence is key.
