My Thai wife and I currently live in the USA. My wife is returning to Thailand for a visit for the first time, by herself, with me following a month later. She has purchased gifts for friends and family, with each gift costing about $20 or less. We want to avoid any hassles at customs upon entry, so she will be declaring the gifts. The total value is approximately $800. Since the items are not for her personal use (mostly perfumes, leather wallets and small toys), will she be charged import duties, and if so, would anyone know the approximate tax rate, and would there be a problem? She does have all the receipts for her purchases, Thanks in advance for any information.

Just place items in one piece luggage, boxes in another, if requested place luggage on scanner machine, they are not looking for that kind of stuff anyway.
