What I recently observed on a YT channel I recently watched a prominent YTuber (not mentioning their name, business, country of origin or YT channel) Lawyer living in Thailand who voiced his displeasure with the current administration efforts using ICE enforcement efforts at airports. A prominent lawyer living in Thailand recently posted a video criticizing the current U.S. administration’s expanded ICE arrests of visa overstayers at domestic airports, calling the practice "deeply creepy", "Orwellian" and a slide toward totalitarianism that risks eroding Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment protections. While acknowledging the need for border security and enforcement against illegal presence, he argued that turning airports into de facto "papers please" checkpoints represents government overreach, especially when some targets include spouses of U.S. citizens. Many of his regular viewers, accused him of inconsistency (given his support for strict Thai immigration enforcement) and of soft pedaling real immigration law in favor of either leftist talking points or business interests tied to immigration work.
