I am a retired farang female teacher and would like if possible to get custody of a Thai girl who I met when she was 2 years old and now she is 13, she has a terrible abuseing family life living with her grandma and her mother threw her away when she was born. Is there a way to get full custody of this girl?

Adoption no, custody in essence becoming the legal guardian might be possible but should be discussed with a competent lawyer, especially if the grandmother doesn't want to cooperate. In that case it will require proof that the child is in danger.

Adoption of a named child is possible but not generally encouraged by the DSDW. You should contact them to discuss it.

When you say ... "she has a terrible abuseing family life living with her grandma" what exactly is the 'abuse' you are referring to?

When you say ... "and her mother threw her away when she was born", do you mean that the daughter was passed to the grandparents so that the Mother could continue to work?
