In order to insult someone should should have some knowledge, you have zero. Safe to say though I have accomplished more in the automotive world that the 2 of you combined could only dream about.
September 16, 201411 yr Ive misjudged U then. Just went by your posts. Broken Ford and unfinished Motorbike . The Escort poster has achieved something.

Not only have you misjudged you cannot read either. My bike is finished (and modified again/finished again/modifed again/finished again/modified again)and will be back on the road as a scrambler for Baen Sean Bike week. After that it will come apart again for a frame stretch/solo seat and rigid frame for Burapha Bike week. It is called a hobby.
September 16, 201411 yr Mustang not coming to Thailand anytime soon. Why not? The 2014 model is here. Where and what Ford dealers are selling them??? SHOW ME. There is only one 2014 on the gray market and it is over 5 million baht. http://www.one2car.com/FORD_MUSTANG/F11140275 Exactly, it's here, on the grey market, that means it's here. WHAT ARE YOU SHOUTING FOR???

WHAT ARE YOU SHOUTING FOR??? Well if you count the grey market then every car is here. I am not willing to pay $175,000 for a $50,000 car. IMHO if it is here means it is in a Ford dealers show room at a reasonable price not the grey market.

What I posted is a fact, not opinion.
September 16, 201411 yr If the vehicle does not have aftersales support by the OEM then I do not consider it "available here".

And? It has been built 3 times since I have owned it so it is hardly unfinished (infact it could easily be put back together in its last configuration). I was over it as it not a "riders" bike. Now that I have the Yamaha Bolt coming I have decided to renew my tinkering on it. Is that ok you and the old guy ?

As you know "Reasonable price" will never apply here, nothing imported or assembled here is reasonable. Even if its in the Ford dealers, it will cost more than the Grey Market price, whats the rant about the car being in an official dealer or grey market? does that mean its not here because it will still cost $150,000 plus even if its ever in an official dealer? just eye candy in either place.

If it is a dealers showroom it has been assembled in Thailand , can be serviced at the dealer and the price would be close to stateside pricing. If it is a grey market car than it is not assembled in Thailand and hit with a 300% import tax.

Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Suzuki, Maserati, Bentley, Land Rover, Porsche, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Audi, Citroen, Subaru, Mini, Skoda, and Lexus, to name a few, might disagree with you.

You're right there but you will still be paying for the import tax. Maybe better to say that a grey market car is one not assembled in Thailand and one that the buyer will pay the import tax.

Just cause you can buy the car don't mean you can buy spare parts readily when it breaks.

If it is a grey market car than it is not assembled in Thailand and hit with a 300% import tax. Understand your "ifs" but that is just not the case here. If cars are close to stateside pricing, all the folks driving bmw and mercedes on the streets will be in a lambo or ferrari and you my man will be in a brand spanking new Mustang Shelby GT500! Bangkok would be the supercar capital of Asia. An example is Mercedes, the most popular luxury brand for thais. Mercedes has lost a big share to the grey market, they have also stop servicing grey market imports. The biggest Mercedes grey market dealer is NK Benz, they move hundreds of cars (mostly used though) per month. Again you can go compare the price yourself, grey market is cheaper and yes they are imported and tax legally. There are legit grey market dealers. 300% import tax are just numbers, it is not the final sale price, go check out how much each car cost. Lower end cars such as Honda, Ford, etc the profit margins are less hence nobody imports them in to sell. I agree, support and car parts availability is key. I would not buy from grey market as well, but if it was a special car that I really like I would not hesitate to approach a reputable grey market dealer if its not offered at an official. But again, that does not mean its "unavailable". It just means you prefer to NOT buy it from a grey market and wait for parts when it comes to servicing. Yes, if I have the cash I don't mind buying an "overpriced" car, I'm here permanently I get to enjoy it rest of the my life instead of dreaming about it.
September 17, 201411 yr I have checked out grey market pricing as I wanted a new Chevrolet Camaro and I can not justify paying 6.2 million baht (about $193,000US)for a Camaro that lists for $56,000 in the US. I also can't justify, or can afford, to pay more for a car than I paid for my house. To me that is just absurd. Of course if I could afford to pay more for a car than my house I probably would not be living in Thailand. http://showroom.one2car.com/carDetail.aspx?car_id=h08140262

Park your 3 million Mercedes at your 2 million or 6000 baht a month condo block until it gets repoed. Or park your Fortuner at your 4000 baht a month room that it's bigger than, then you can attend all the Hi-so functions with the other credit ladened wannabes, gigs and toy boys. Of course if you live at home in Mummy and Daddys tatty house that a set of tyres costs more than then you can buy new and not need to put a 'mua mahi' sticker on the back and actually buy something while at the shopping mall.
October 3, 201411 yr Here it is, actually spoke to the guy, the family buy/sell high end cars but the lad bought this as his own fun ride. All the markings had been removed, been blown over but rust was still evident, he says they are going to bare metal restore it. It's a 1970 Pontiac Catalina or Parisienne..(I think) Sadly the motor has been replaced with a Lexus or Toyota V8 lump..
October 4, 201411 yr Have a 81'Cutlass Supreme (Shovelnose), if someone is interested. Has V8, 300 HP, in excellent condition.
October 5, 201411 yr photo (1).JPG Any idea what this is? That be a dead 1969 Mercury Cougar. A restoration project then, you reckon?
October 5, 201411 yr photo (1).JPG Any idea what this is? That be a dead 1969 Mercury Cougar. A restoration project then, you reckon? Might be beyond restoration. From the photo it is missing a right front fender and windshield. God knows what else and how much rust there is. There are a lot easier and cheaper restoration projects around.
