Yes they play Crosswords competitively in Thai schools.

คำคม should be the name I think. It should be available to purchase at various stores.

From memory, I think the vowels and tone markers which are above and below aren't really part of the game, as it'd make it too complicated. Instead when I've watched my students play, they just write the markers etc on pieces of paper. Although อา แอ เอ should still be included

Not so familiar with คำคม as a real equivalent to Scrabble, but I'll not for the record that I have played a few Thais in Scrabble in English that have photographic memories, use the (BS) 'scrabble dictionary' and make tough competitors.

I've seen a Thai scrabble like game in shops in Bangkok. It's not actual scrabble but played along the same lines. It's called Kham Khom คำคม
