Am I getting enough fibre ?

Featured Replies

I decided to up my intake to a straight definable 5 a day. I found that actually quite difficult to do, very boring and not as easily available in Thailand as you might think. I also had a few upsets which made me wonder how much is enough!

As I also eat outside on the stalls there are contamination issues too.

So I wondered whether the whole wheat, peanuts, baked beans, bananas, apples and baked potatos I eat are providing enough fibre anyway. And do they more or less meet the nutritional requirements.

Does anybody know any other snacky food that is also high in fibre.

I'm not so bothered about fat content, or sugar, or having a perfect diet.

I found for myself an ideal supplement is the psyillum husk product line.

The biggest problem was in getitng a pharmo to understand what I was asking for? Typical Brands may be Metamucil, Fibragel amongst others.

The stuff really helps in bringing up the useful bulking that most of the typical tourists junk food diet misses out on.

I was lucky in eventually stumbling onto a pharmacy that had an old pack of Fibregel - down the back...

The next trip upto LOS, we brought a couple of big tubs of Metamucil, which seems to cope best with what is being passed through your gut.

some equivalents to this stuff can simply be spinkled over whatever you are eating, or mixed into what your drinking
