BANGKOK: -- Durex will consult with an independent group of medical professionals and consumers to ensure its communications are “appropriate and respectful” after a Thai marketing campaign prompted widespread outrage.

The century-old British condom brand announced the move as it reiterated apologies for a marketing graphic shared on Facebook with an invented statistic saying “28% of women who say no give in at the end.”

“It absolutely goes against everything we stand for,” said a statement released by Durex Thailand today. “As a strong advocate for healthy and respectful relationships, we have the utmost respect for women and are committed to helping people love sex safely.”

The entire statement is below:

Durex reiterates that we sincerely regret and apologize for the inappropriate and offensive post made on our Durex Thailand Facebook page recently. Non-consensual sex is not a behaviour or attitude that Durex condones. It absolutely goes against everything we stand for. As a strong advocate for healthy and respectful relationships, we have the utmost respect for women and are committed to helping people love sex safely. [read more...]

This is only a big BST marketing as usually.

recipe:

1. we make some idiot post, picture or anything

2. the plebs flares up

3. we apologize (but every-one talk about us)

4. we got free advertising with logo, like this TV article ...

This really full surprise to me some-one eats this infantility.

Try to imagine Durex would have had to pay for this exposure? Brilliant strategy considering that there is NO bad advertising.

Needless to say that Durex certainly does not support non-consensual "use" of their products; that is the only statement I believe. Everything else is called "communication gone viral".

In other countries head would have rolled. The same has to happen here. Anyone in the management knowing about this should step down. They have clearly shown that they don't have common sense and food judgement.

Durex clearly showing they have no food judgement.... so your supposed to eat condoms ?
