Actually no. I get the idea on here sometimes that some people don't realize just what good friends and confidants the US and the UK are.

The Yard and the FBI hold joint training meetings, share technology, share DNA databases, etc. etc. It's the DNA databases that allow them to differentiate with such granularity just what it is that they have.

It goes a lot farther. The UK has developed a superb air to ground missile that the US has and uses. The UK has US stealth technology and actually has and flies stealth drones. The UK has 4 Trident submarines with deep water launch ICBMs that carry multiple nuclear warheads that can hit multiple targets with nukes anywhere in the world. That makes the UK one of the "Nuclear Club of Five" which has all of the methods of launching a nuke.

There is massive trust and friendship between governments and the US people would do anything for the Brits.

Either the Brits or the US could do equally well in helping the Thais solve these murders. They have all of the same shared technology.

I give the Thai police credit for asking for help. Outside technology will give them a much better chance to identify suspects properly and correctly and most importantly R/O innocent people....Nothing worse in a serious crime to wrongly convict....

I'll leave the rest of your quote alone and focus on your last sentence/question . . . that's a simple one to answer . . . it's a high profile murder case involving tourists (that so far they have handled terribly and insensitively as per usual) and (from the looks of things) perpetrators of Asian descent . . . so their concern is the tourist numbers/dollars disappearing . . . simple as that.

Why would anyone waste time and money taking DNA samples from any women in a murder rape case ?

As for the trousers being on the killer running off..... well................

agree about the trousers, they would be down around his ankles as he doesn't appear to be holding them up.

Yes. I believe the messages we hear via media are not a realistic indicator of what the police know or who they suspect in most cases. There may be threads of truth to some reports, but it is impossible to know. The press in Thailand are not free, the powers that be know that the press are to be manipulated, and you can forget about anything like investigative journalism. There is so much censorship - self censorship and otherwise it is stupid to think one can learn much from the press in Thailand (and often most other places around the world).

Remember when there was an explosion on a domestic flight Mr T was due to take ?

He started screaming ' assassination attempt ' and set a deadline, 14 days i think, for a result. Four different committees were set up and co-ordination was anyone's guess. Seems nothing has been learned given the island tragedy and everyone having their say.

It all went quiet when the aircraft company's engineers proved the explosion was caused by a mechanic working on the air-con cut corners and ignored the manual.

What did come out of that incident was the fact that so many Thai passengers were travelling on false names so thereafter I/D was needed to book and use domestic flights.
