I'll lay 10 to 1 that they don't give up the metric system. Or should that be 144 to 13 that they keep the Imperial?

10 to 1 is 11 in decimal odds... biggrin.png

What's still measured in inches?

Hint:

I am a rulers length , is that 12 or 30 cm

I Googled "very small ruler " in images to post a response but all it came up with was this . . .

The French founded the Metric system, it is an easier system to understand, but women still compare a mans height in inches.

That French ruler must be at least 27 inches.

We do.

If you were riding a horse and met strangers going the other way, wouldn't you like to be able to use your sword arm, just-in-case?

Yes, exactly. This is why the US abandoned swords in favor of guns. biggrin.png

The US adopted the metric system in the mid-1960s. Then again about ten years later. And a few more times since. I don't think anyone knows this, though. wink.png

On the other hand the metric system takes a level of difficulty off of the study of sciences -- easier to move a decimal point than juggle arcane conversion factors.

Actually, the US started adopting the metric system in the 1800s, they just a wee bit slow.....

Canada adopted the metric system and pretty well made it mandatory in retail outlets etc... in what the courts declared was an extra-constitutional manner and the original law was struck down.... but after 5 years it already had a pretty good foothold and the it is pretty well the standard now.
