I made a bread and butter pudding today that I have been putting off for ages.

I have a food tasting panel of 4 adults and 3 children.

Of the adults, one Thai wouldn't try it as she is vegetarian and won't eat eggs, the other two liked it but said it was wa(a)n or sweet and the farang (me) enjoyed it.

Of the 3 kids, my son 10 liked it, the 9 year old daughter didn't want any and the 6 year old daughter gave it the highets rating of yummy yummy.

Looks good.

Bread & Butter Pudding is one of my favourites.

My recipe is pretty much the same as yours, although I think I found an error in your recipe.

It says it serves 7 people.............Surely some mistake licklips.gif.pagespeed.ce.v-hsVd-Wpu.gif

This seems a nice one, but I think my image is a little more moist (perhaps it's Dad's recipe) is this at all dry? I'll make it and see anyway. BTW, if you are near a Yamazaki, or San Etoile, they sometimes have bread crust off cuts by the HUGE bag (20B), that work very well in BBPuddings!...

I used 8 slices of 7/11s best brown bread. It was a bit dry on top but I was doing something else at the same time and forgot it.

Unfortunately I live in rural Thailand and the 7/11 only 6km away. The nearest western supermarket is BigC at Khampaeng Phet 65 km away.

The truth be know it will probably serve only one person, ME.but yes you can put 8 slices of bread instead of 5 and up the other ingredients and it will serve 6 easily.

I cook this for myself from time to time.

My CWA (Australia) cookbook suggests buttering two slices of bread then cutting it into cubes.

Let it stand half an hour before baking. (20 minute in the microwave at MEDIUM.)

Extra sultanas and I tend to put in extra nutmeg too!

Lasts me about three days.

Love it.....just for the heck of it, if it is too sweet for the Thais, why not add some SALT...or maybe Vegemite?

There is no such thing as "too sweet for Thais"!
