heyexile
Some questions... 1) Why is banana pancake man wearing a golf tee with RTP insignia? Was he recently "deputized" and now legally in the employ of the RTP? 2) Prior to being the first foreign national to graduate from the RTP academy and receiving his badge (in record time I might add), was banana pancake man working and living legally on Koh Tao? If not, it makes Question #1 even more relevant. Well, observed mate. I never even noticed his disguise. Since, this was probably him masquerading as a RTP official to keep this farcical spectacle alive and well, adding a little more glamour to this charade of imposters trying to make out - like this is really is what happened …. My thoughts exactly. The white-washing, sleight of hand (or uniforms in this case), inconsistencies and changing theories of the RTP have turned this tragedy into a travesty. I am not assigning guilt to or presuming the innocence of any of the parties implicated in this case so far, just raising some questions about the case that remain to be answered. It just seems that at every new development, there is a purposeful misdirection on the part of the authorities to make the difficult questions go away. It appears they decided early on how the case would turn out and are now trying to fit "evidence" to match up with their desired outcome instead of the other way around--letting the evidence tell the story. Early on in the case when the RTP claimed the murders were a crime of passion perpetrated by a spurned lover who flew into a jealous homosexual rage, the police (after preliminary investigation) concluded that there were at least 3 perpetrators and 2 weapons (the 3 perps and 2 weapons part being about the only plausible thing they have said about the whole case). However, as the focus of the investigation turned to a Thai national and then to undocumented migrant workers, this theory seems to have been abandoned. It appears that now the RTP "have their guys," the 3 perpetrators and 2 weapons theory is gone with the wind--unless we are to believe the second weapon was the plastic dust collector seen in the "re-enactment." My question is, what happened to the third (or possibly 4th or 5th) perp? It stretches my imagination to understand how only two individuals could simultaneously assault Mr. Miller and drown him (while he was evidently fighting back) and subdue, sexually assault and murder Ms. Witheridge. My second question is, early media reports claimed the RTP sent DNA samples to Singapore for analysis. Are the RTP willing to provide the name of the agency or private lab in Singapore to confirm the DNA analysis was indeed conducted offshore? Are the RTP willing to publish the results of the analysis for public scrutiny? This would certainly lend some credibility to their claims. As it stands, I haven't seen anything to date that indicates that any DNA left Thailand. Finally, if the university in Bangkok was willing to handover CCTV footage to the lawyer representing Mr. Warot (which many have claimed was doctored), would the university be willing to make available to the public the same footage without the interference of an intermediary who is being paid to protect the interests of his client? This would also lend some credibility to official RTP story. Nothing was sent to a`mystery` lab in Singapore. That`s why it was never mentioned again. It was `misinformation` to explain why FBI help was refused. No original material from the poor victims was sent. No material from suspects for cross-matching was sent. It was all done in-house, initially at police forensics lab in Bangkok.

ScotBkk
One thing about this case that I don't understand, why kill them with a hoe? I think that they were probably drowned first then their bodies were mutilated by the hoe to make it look like migrant workers had done it. Great observation. Only no DNA from David was found on the hoe so don't think your theory works out I'm afraid .....

I really hope this isn't another bit of "clairvoyant" police reporting like when they said "we think we will have arrests within the next 2-3 days" and then whaddayaknow-they did. Scene-setting. Btw-most media reports uk and elsewhere I have read today state the 3rd suspect now openly denies his friends were involved at all, that he had a few drinks with them, he went to his girlfriends, while the two stayed out and kept drinking. When 3rd suspect came home the two were sleeping soundly in bed at 5am. No signs of violent crime having been committed.... Plus wide reporting that police did not employ a forensics medical specialist AT ALL. Edited October 9, 2014 by intune53

intune53
Such timing after wide reporting like this: " Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun the two migrant workers accused murdering two British tourists were reported to have retracted their confessions, as Thai prosecutors rejected a police report into the killings claiming it lacked “crucial information” and a leading forensic expert said the investigation “contradicted the principles of forensic science”." I think its aimed more at the Thai establishment than anything else, but of course any atrocity or wrong doing by a countries main key pillars will and does have a knock on effect to the population because the population make up and put in position those who do wrong... in this case the Police... the People also by doing nothing to change this long standing and well known problem allow it to continue. in part there is guilt by social association and acceptance of a corrupt police force. it dosnt tar individuals but it does lay the responsibility ultimately at the feet of the Thai people, it is only when they really and truly have had enough will things change. In the meantime, the more bad stories and press that come to light the more the reputation will go south

If either of these two commit suicide while in police or prison custody with all at stake and pile of dung this case has become then they will have been killed or executed to keep another safe. The 2 lads know by now they have representation and people are at last listening to them, they will be the most hopeful they have been since arrest. If these two wind up dead before this case is all wrapped up its because someone else wished it to be that way And it wont be suicide itll be murder. Probably not in best interests of the Supreme Commander of Police (PM), and his hand-picked appointee Pol Commissioner General Somyot, to have fast-tracked trial now. International attention etc. Pol Gen Somyot was put in charge of the investigation. He and PM have both signed off on this "perfect investigation" and pronounced case closed. The 800 page file could go back and forth from Pol to Prosecutors/Court for a while. Meanwhile who knows what else could transpire. Too late to find a police fall guy now to take the blame. No one can back-track now. Poor Hannah and David, blessings and peace. Poor Thailand,

Popular Post Expat Girl
I just hope it does not end with these boys being murdered or committing "suicide" as this will leave so many open questions and in reality, with out sounding negative, we will all just move on, maybe not forget about it but get on with our daily life. Cant believe we are not fighting about 'overstays' , 'visa runs' farangs working with out work permits or working 'online', forgot about all that, shows how insignificant it all is when something like this occurs. One thing that has impressed me is how everyone came together to help these boys, yes they might be guilty but at least you have pushed to give them a chance, even the people who believe they are guilty, know deep down in their hearts there is a chance this is not the case, but they have to stick to there side of the story as they have gone down this path from the offset, same for the non guilty brigade, who knows really, I certainly do not, but someone does. For me, we should all take a rest day from this tomorrow as I believe it is Hannah's funeral, come Saturday let the debate begin again.
